This is clearly not true. 
 

Still, Megan is in a better position now. She will never reach the heights of Cardi, but she's consistent which is why despite low sales she can make a succesful tour and got a cute hit sometimes (like Mamushi is shaping up to be one).

 

Cardi is bigger, but insanely not consistent about anything in her career. Singles are flopping, a tour can be easily a fiasco, she keeps getting pregnant and the hype for the follow up of her 6 year old debut is fading. 
 

So yeah, despite being fake, it clearly has a real motive behind it: Megan is more relevant now.
