Gwendolyn Posted August 5 Posted August 5 The BBC has revealed that the band Dear Alice will feature in the upcoming documentary series Made in Korea: The K-Pop Experience. The five members of Dear Alice—Blaise, Dexter, James, Olly, and Reese—were also announced, alongside presenter and BBC Radio 1 DJ Vick Hope, who will narrate the series. Blaise Noon, the youngest member at 19, is a former pupil of the BRIT school with experience in acting, singing, and dancing. Dexter Greenwood, 22, has completed a performing arts diploma in musical theatre and is now transitioning into pop. James Sharp, 23, is a content creator from Huddersfield with 5.5 million TikTok followers. Olly Quinn, 20, grew up as a childhood chorister in Sunderland and has graduated in dance and musical theatre. Reese Carter, 20, from Wiltshire, previously worked as a performer on cruise ships but has now left to pursue his boyband dreams. Made in Korea: The K-Pop Experience is a six-part series that will follow these five young men as they undergo the rigorous K-pop training process under the guidance of SM Entertainment, the company that led the worldwide spread of K-pop. The series is a collaboration between Moon&Back Media, SM Entertainment, and SM & Kakao Entertainment America. https://www.memorabletv.com/news/bbc-announces-dear-alice-as-the-featured-band-in-upcoming-k-pop-series/
Gwendolyn Posted August 5 Author Posted August 5 Dexter currently is getting the most love --- I think they could be very well if the songs they're given were more in line with what's trending in the UK music scene, they can dance, they look good and I don't get too much typical K-pop vibe from them. The backing from the BBC can also secure them good airplay, excited to see how they and Katseye go.

tost1 Posted August 5 Posted August 5 That song in the twitter videos sounds like pure **** so good luck with that 1
ItsJustMe. Posted August 5 Posted August 5 (edited) I'm curious but imo SM should not try to appeal too much the to the "western" scene (in other words: dull and boring) and just try out what works for kpop.. that would make them stand out more here I think! Edited August 5 by ItsJustMe. 1
Digitalism Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I like the idea but the boys look boring It would have been more interesting if they showed us the casting process too. And also let audience choose because I know for a fact they wouldn't have choosen 4 boring white guys. 2
Minto Posted August 5 Posted August 5 (edited) the song in the OP sounds like an english version of a BTS song they should've cut two of the white boys too admittedly Edited August 5 by Minto 1
LittleCupid Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I don't want to be rude but only Dexter (and maybe James) are good looking and the music doesn't sound good. Maybe they'll grow into something better though.
GentleEarthquake Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Dexter is so cute. The other ones look uninteresting I'm sorry
Eat The Acid Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Not 4 white guys Nobody asked for this. We're sick of big labels trying to push non representative acts down our throat. Society in any culture nowadays does not look like this band. NEXT.

Girl it's a manufactured teen bop boy band what do you expect, a mixed race non binary, black lesbian, white FTM, Chinese intersex? their aim is to sell records chileeee 1
IBeMe Posted August 6 Posted August 6 (edited) you kn ow what? there is indeed something very k pop about them which is good! A big issue with these k pop companies that try to debut western bands is they dont make them k pop enough because they try to cater to western audiences but that defeats the purpose for most fans who want the kl pop vibes and experience but in english! that said, they should have had at least ONE asian guy in the group too...
