Djokovic is 37 and had an injury, so I'm sure Alcaraz would have eventually pulled ahead in a 10 hour game Edited August 4 by Bosque

Lack of luck and emotions getting over him 2008: In semis leading 4:3 in 3rd set against Nadal, having game point and easy smash for 5:3 in the net. Losing 3rd set 6:4. Won bronze. 2012: lost in semis to Murray who was coming after Wimbledon win. Lost fight for bronze to Del Potro. 2016: Lost in 1R to Del Potro who was coming back after injury and had protected ranking so they faced so early and Del Potro won 7:6 7:6 2021: Leading 6:1 and 3:1 against Zverev and physically lost any power he had, also played mixed doubles, and coming back after RG and W wins, they had less weeks in between because covid affected schedule so he was exhausted. Barely won any point until the end of match. Zverev gave him one game in 3rd set so he doesn't bagel him. Also lost fight for bronze while struggling with his breathing. He couldn't move anymore. Conditions were unpayable that summer in Tokyo which is why most players didn't go. The fact that he ended up winning at this age on clay against Nadal at RG court, and Alcaraz at his peak. I couldn't have imagined better scenario. Edited August 4 by NoAngelus 1

Look at poor Carlos who said recently that Novak is goat and then had to backtrack because he was attacked by his own media. 2 1

NoAngelus Posted August 4 Posted August 4 The fact that Carlos had his own coach fly back from his vacation to coach him yesterday and this morning while Novak won without having a coach last 6 months with only his wife and kids by his side in his box 1
