Do you avoid seeing Marvel films at the cinema?

Because of the loud audiences, clapping, screaming, shouting, cringeness of it all?

I prefer dead silence when watching.

Yep, I would rather not waste my time and money on crappy cash-grabbing fanwanks.

There are way too many good movies out there for me to actually support and enjoy. :coffee2:

I used to watch them at the cinema, but I tapped out after Avengers: Endgame because of Marvel/super-hero movies fatigue.

I'll eventually catch up though.

This literally happens opening weekend for any BLOCKBUSTER movie. Not just Marvel. I saw Twisters two weeks ago it was the same thing.

I don't understand why yall act so high and mighty about comic book movies when this has been a trend forever. Westerns, disaster flicks, YA books ( especially the terrible twilight films). Yall trying to brow nose" turn off you brain popcorn flicks "when you're on a pop culture music forum is something I'll never understand.

And no I don't avoid most of the them. Only one in the last year I avoided was the Marvels and it was more that I was busy during the time. I tend to go to the movies 2-3x a month usually.

I avoid the Cinema for any movies if I want to watch is so bad i'll wait till it's on streaming like I did with Barbie.  I do really want to see the new Deadpool movie but don't want to go to the movies by myself plus it's pricy asf

that doesn't really happen here. i dont like hearing people munch popcorn so i avoid the whole cinema experience for that :suburban:

Huh? No. If anything that's the only thing that makes them worth watching. When you watch them at home and the cringy jokes just evaporate into thin air :rip:

I haven't seen one since that crossover spider man movie though

The superiority complex in here :rip:

I try to watch them on the Thursday previews before the opening weekend. Not as crowded and I dont have to worry about spoilers on the internet.

I'm guessing that this thread has been made just to take digs at the Marvel movies / fandom? I've seen movies of every genre that had audiences who laughed / clapped / screamed - because that's what you sign up for when watching a blockbuster release in a room full of other people… :rip:

In regards to Marvel, I've never had an obnoxious crowd when seeing one of those movies at the cinema. A lot of the reactions you find on YouTube are from special fan events or midnight screenings when you're dealing with the hardcore fans, which is why the reactions are more passionate, it isn't like that with the GP. I've only experienced people laughing at comedic scenes or screaming at jump scares during horror movies.

Behaviour that does ruin the cinema experience are the people who sit on their phones throughout the movie with their screen brightness on 100%, taking selfies with the flash on and talking / being obnoxious. I've experienced all of these things but never during a Marvel movie, so let's talk about that!

Another thing to add is, if you genuinely don't want to hear any noise during a cinema viewing of a movie, then go at an off peak time or after the movie has been out for a while and it should be less crowded and sometimes completely empty. Don't go opening week during peak showings and then complain that people dared to laugh and cheer. :eli:

I'm only curious about "WandaVision" which I believe is a TV show. Nothing else Marvel related has appealed to me ever.

Yes. I don't like how Marvel films tend to have a quip in every scene even in serious moments. I love some witty dialogue, but shoehorning a joke every five minutes is just insulting.

I don't avoid them just don't feel the need to go and see them, I'm ok with avoiding spoilers, so I watch it once it becomes available for home watching. I still go, but it's something I really have to see or can't wait to see.
