Popular Post legendlavigne Posted August 1 Popular Post Posted August 1 (edited) EDIT: It seems to be a biopic! The Ankler has learned that Universal Pictures has landed the rights to Britney Spears' massive bestselling memoir, The Woman in Me. Jon M. Chu, whose Wicked is about to be released through the studio, is attached to develop to direct. Oscar-winning producer Marc Platt, his collaborator on Wicked and the producer of La La Land is also attached. A source puts the rights deal in the eight figures, with rights to Spears' vast music catalog as part of the arrangement. stjosephprey4us Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Excited for anything from her, second book, movie, etc. but I really would love music, even a small feature or collab or a soundtrack song
Sugar-Rush Posted August 1 Posted August 1 It's good that she's getting involved in something productive that she seems passionate about, I just wish this were a music project rather than a film project. 1
starsailor Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) Oh no. A Biopic Exclusive: Britney Spears' Biopic Lands at Universal in Massive Deal Marc Platt, Jon M. Chu attached after fierce bidding war for the #1 'New York Times' bestselling memoir The Ankler has learned that Universal Pictures has landed the rights to Britney Spears' massive bestselling memoir, The Woman in Me. The book has been the subject of intense competition in Hollywood. Earlier, The Ankler had reported that there was interest from Shonda Rhimes, Brad Pitt's Plan B, and Margot Robbie. The Ankler has learned that Sony, Warner Brothers, Fox, Disney and Netflix all vied for the project. Spears' The Woman In Me has sold over 2.5 million copies in the United States alone, was critically acclaimed, and became the fastest selling in Simon & Schuster's history, and hit #1 on the New York Times' bestseller lists in all formats: audio, hardcover and ebook. Spears was represented in the deal by Hudson Management and CAA. I will update with comment from Universal. https://theankler.com/p/exclusive-britney-spears-biopic-lands Edited August 1 by starsailor 5

attention Posted August 1 Posted August 1 as long as she's involved and not like that lifetime movie mess years back
Popboi. Posted August 1 Posted August 1 A big budget biopic with her actually overseeing the production would be very cute (and hopefully therapeutical) for her, especially if it's about not known stuff
Richie.Valdez Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) Universal Pictures coming through with that fat check for the queen... 8 figures... get money *****. Britney's ride at Universal Studios Orlando confirmed Edited August 1 by Richie.Valdez 1 5
Hector Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) Who will play her I'm most curious about. Sydney Sweeney? Margot Robbie? Edited August 1 by Hector 1
Rev8 Posted August 1 Posted August 1 So they really are working on a biopic I remember the drags when it was suggested this happening, last year
