What are JPop songs about? Genuine question since I don't understand Japanese. Most English songs I know are about love, relationships, the opposite sex, etc. Are they singing about these topics while being forced to portray an image that they don't do any of these things? I'm so confused about why this is even a thing. wtf.

It's interesting because you would think a society that's struggling with low birth rates like Japan is, would be promoting love and relationships. So basically it's okay to sell sex and borderline lolita to middle aged men but it's bad to have an actual real relationship  makes no sense no matter how you slice it
