Paddy Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Fecking residency... Let me see if I'll be able to afford it. It'll be like 5000 per ticket and risk of cancellation.

She's always made it known if she returned to the stage, it'd be in Vegas, where she resides. The rigors of touring are likely not sustainable for her anymore, and she likely needs consistency to ensure top health performance. 1

Oh I absolutely understand - it's the only thing that makes sense for her and only way to do it, don't get me wrong, but I can still say it's ****. It will still be risky, I hope she's doing well and will be able to do it, because people won't be happy if the shows get cancelled, so I hope she's not rushing into it.

I'm fairly certain any kind-hearted human being with a conscious would understand if any date(s) got canceled/postponed. 1

Sure they would, but you'd still understand their disappointment if they fly across the world just to have it cancelled. That's why I'm hoping she do like 5 shows a month only, slowly get used to it and build herself up potentially for more dates. We will see what happens, but it's great she's doing so well now.

I'm sure if she thinks she can do this, then she can. I also don't think she'll have some rigorous schedule, it'll probably be a couple of times a month or something like that 1
allforyou Posted July 27 Posted July 27 A residency is truly the best option for her, if touring is already grueling for people who are perfectly healthy then it would be extremely hard for her. I just hope that they don't do too many shows a week so she'll have time to rest and recover in between.
JustHoran Posted July 27 Posted July 27 This is the BEST. Touring is so hard mentally and physically on a person, if she wants to perform this is the absolute best way to do that and also stay healthy. I'm so happy for her because I know she loves her fans and performing so much. I also hope it's not a busy schedule. She doesn't need to do a ton of shows a week anymore. A few a month is just fine. 2

It's her life's work. She has been fighting everyday to get back to the stage, in the face of her rare health condition, which struck her at random. As long as this residency can be managed in a way that can work with her health and not make it worse, this news can only be applauded and not questioned. It's wonderful that she now feels she can be ready to stand on the stage once again
MP3 Posted July 27 Posted July 27 There was already a new residency in schedule I think starting in late 2022 but it got cancelled due to her health so it's just the same one but with new dates
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted July 28 Posted July 28 The tickets are going to sell out so fast and cross a fortune, sigh. I hope the rich b1tches enjoy the show!

Maybe in the initial unveiling of the tour, but once COVID hit, I think those plans were stalled.

It is the 2021 one you're thinking about: ❝ Dion, who has a bit of history in Vegas at a couple of other landmark venues, will add another historical first as she's landed the premiere engagement at the Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas. She has 10 shows set for November — a fraction of what she could do, obviously, given her multi-year runs in other venues on the Strip. Dion's opening night Nov. 5 will benefit COVID Relief. Her initial engagement there will be broken down into five two-night stands on Nov. 5-6, 9-10, 12-13, 16-17 and 19-20. ❞ 1
Junlin Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Sure she has the best medical advice, if her health conditions and vocals are ready then perched for her return in triumph.
TiaTamera Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Not me thinking this would be Resorts World in Queens I was about to say that I didn't even know they had shows lol
