I still remember when she defended Bieber and said he didn't understand the history of the N-word because he's from Canada. Her ex also did Black face right in front of her and she found it hilarious. Also, Biden can't be racist because he was Obama's VP for 8 years. And now look at her. Getting more bitter with age because life won't vindicate the clownish choices she's made. She'll get over it tho. Shining shoes won't leave much time for reflection. 1
glitch Posted July 22 Posted July 22 I don't wanna hear cries of ageism from a woman who bashed young people for being lazy and not working hard enough. Sucks when the shoe is on the other foot doesn't it Whoopi!
modeblock Posted July 23 Posted July 23 (edited) babygirl, not everything is ageism, when it comes to making decisions that require sharp mental acuity and ability to withstand long hours, unfortunately younger people have the advantage. There is still a role for older folks to take as potential advisors or serving in their communities, putting their wisdom to good use. Either way, it's not even JUST because of age that people were calling for him to retire, but because of his shocking mental decline. He and his handlers have done the honorable thing to step aside and let the person who is literally there to take his place, take the reigns of their incumbent campaign. Edited July 23 by modeblock 1
Bewitched Posted July 23 Posted July 23 (edited) On the one hand I understand what Whoopi is saying. After the debate everybody basically bashed Biden and told him to step down, meanwhile the media didn't really focus that much on how Trump was in the debate and then obviously the attempted assassination blew things to a 100. This should've been something done privately cause either way Biden probably was gonna step down. But on the other hand, I'm sorry but I truly don't believe anyone over the age of 70 should be running this country (I mean personally I'd even go to 65+ but that only counts if they start their term that age). The debate truly showed he's not fit to run this country. There's nothing wrong with him but he should be doing other things at this point. I'm excited for Kamala and I hope she wins. Now is not the time to get all pissy about Biden leaving and ageism. Edited July 23 by Bewitched
Titanbaddie Posted July 23 Posted July 23 There's definitely a conversation to be had about what this says about people of a certain age and keeping power even when the right choice is to let go but i don't see anyone on that panel being honest about it because i think it's clearly sensitive to Whoopi (and to some degree Joy). 1

To be fair, Sarah and Alyssa have criticized Biden's age but have also always said that Joy at 81 is not the same as Biden at 81. 1
