I do think Chromatica is a better pop album than people give it credit. It's nothing revolutionary or groundbreaking but it's a very good dance pop album. I'd rank it towards the top of her solo albums and her best solo album since BTW (TFM > TF > BTW > Chromatica > ARTPOP > Joanne).

 

It's a shame Stupid Love is on the tracklist - the worst song on the album. Total noise and represents the album so misleadingly and poorly. The rest of the album is really nice, though. Rain On Me is much better.

I get what she means Chromatica was exactly what I needed at that time of the pandemic. 2020 music takes me back to that time so its not one of her albums that I've had on rotation recently but it always has a special place for me. The theme could have came off as tacky and shallow but she really executed the idea of dancing through your pain brilliantly through the lyricism especially, its a great pop album that really only lacked the experimentation we've come to know from Gaga's past productions but at the same time its exactly what I needed so I'm grateful for it.
