She did the same with Rocco and Lola, cutting all financial support once they became adults so they would actually work for what they wanted. But like many said, he always has a place to go back to if things don't work out, so it's very faux poor and not the real struggle :rip:

Lana's trailer park cosplay teas :rip: God, rich people live in an alternate reality.

Rich people really do love roleplaying as poor people, it's out of touch. Like we all know they'll just go back to being rich once they're bored of pretending to be poor. :rip:

Isn't this every person that lives in NYC…you have to have some support to cosplay poor in NYC!

Ok? Get another job other than "guitar lessons" like.. :rip:

I'm only two years older than him, I'd love to trade spots with him and have my parents fund my excursions if he wants to be a normal young person :cm:

ok if this is true...why is not Madonna helping him? He's only 18....

She has been helping him. If you read the article, you'd realize that he's choosing to do this, not that he's being forced to.

Why not go to school? Get an education. Did any of her kids graduate college? Lourdes dropped out.

Living with his girlfriend… will David be the first one to make Madonna a grandmother? Grandonna. :eatpopcorn:

This poor people role play, I'm sure being poor would be novel and fun when you know you can fall back on your mom's millions at any point :rip:

Realistically though, what other choice does somebody like him have? Madonna is doing the best she can as a parent and trying her hardest not to raise a bunch of out of touch aristocrats. Genuine struggle is not ever going to be on the table for a child of MADONNA so putting him in scenarios where he's at least surrounded by people who don't have his safety net is the closest possible alternative.

Embracing it for some attention is better than the alternative where he resents the working class and cries to momma until the silver spoon is put back in his mouth.

It's lovely to experience it being nine o'clock at night, me being hungry and realizing that I don't have enough money to get food and scavenging. It's fun to be young.'

i truly have no words at this stupidity.

He has the choice to not say that being hungry is a lovely experience.

What he was calling a lovely experience is his independence and young adult life, not the hunger itself. Speaking from first hand experience, a lot of people born into any significant wealth literally never mentally develop into adults because of their lacking responsibilities and zero consequences to any action they take.

She's doing the best she can as a parent and he's at least trying to embrace it. The language in this thread and on twitter in response to this is so nasty. She's doing her job as a mother, he's a CHILD and trying to learn the lessons being thrown at him.

OT: certain tabloids, the thread title, and several tweets choosing the phrasing "Madonna's adopted son" is nauseating. The source article for all of this includes a lengthy quote about how Banda is her closest child. Cut the **** we all know what type of judgements you're trying to invoke with that phrasing.

You're totally right, it is just unfortunate that this kid and others like him don't seem to know when to stop yapping around people that actually don't have a choice about being poor :rip:

Not you saying she had a rich background :rip:

Her upbringing was well documented, specially her dad not supporting her move to new york where Madonna didn't have it easy. Let's not now

The Bronx is certainly a choice, but maybe he'll learn to be somewhat self sufficient.  I'm guessing he didn't go to college, so he hasn't had the experience of being mostly on his own to fend for himself.
