suburbannature Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Screaming because they had the Jesy fans making vocal range videos over that impersonator's voice 8

Jesy wasn't in hospital in 2020 though? I'm pretty sure the only suicide attempt she's ever spoken about publicly was back in 2013. She took a break from band for "mental health reasons" around the time of No Time For Tears, but I can't find anything where she said she was hospitalised. 1
Abracadabra Posted July 21 Posted July 21 That's interesting because I always felt that Jesy's vocal tone was sort of almost exaggerated in that song, I wonder which parts of her lead vocals were her and which weren't.

She was hospitalised in 2020, it seems it happened in Oct/Nov as she had a panic attack in September at Live Lounge so it must have been after that. She said this in her interview with the Guardian, "I was having these panic attacks out of nowhere. I couldn't understand what was happening. It got to the point where I thought, this is too much – I need to come out of this now." As she talked about suffering a panic attack on set of the Sweet Melody music video, Jesy broke down in the interview. She said through tears: "I did the music video and had a panic attack, and it was pretty mental that day. God, I haven't really spoken about it and I'm getting upset. Sorry." She added: "After the video I just got back in a really dark place and ended up back in hospital. That was when my mum said, 'No more.'" Continuing to cry Jesy told the outlet: "I had already decided. Then the girls spoke to Mum and said, 'We think Jesy should come out of this now. She has to look after herself.' "I know there are people who think I've let the other girls down, and that I'm so selfish, but I do think there comes a time in life when you do have to be selfish and look after yourself, and it was really affecting me mentally." Damn I forgot about that! I had the timelines wrong in my head, didn't realize all of that happened so close together plus Covid. Thanks for sharing! 1
