Katy Perry - "Lifetimes"

Element
Message added by Element,

Please keep discussion in this thread focused on the song. Discussions about Katy Perry's larger scale career/choices, and other artists should NOT be done here. There are plenty of other places to do so on ATRL. Thank you!

The Nintendo sounding production was dated on arrival sis.

Ah, so it was not dated. Thanks.

a fun bop. it's obviously an intentional early 2010s throwback, so i'm not sure why being are screaming "dAtEd :fish2:". we will be streaming.

Why are you talking about Lady Gaga in the Katy Perry (Fireworks) thread :deadbanana2:

I don't hate it like her past 5 releases.

Having multiple life's, like the multiverse or some kind of after life.

This is so much better than Women's World omg. There's at least something to this. Better than anything on Smile. Kinda reminds me of this bop (video too tbh)

But does anybody else think her vocals sound a bit….off? Like they seem too restrained for a song like this.

I'll love you for life…

lifetimes (emphasizing more than just one life, multiple)

How is that not clear? :rip:

She's so beautiful in the music video. Yes, she looks more mature/older. You can't expect a energy 40 year old to still look 20. Still beautiful.

The production isn't the issue for me here, it's the very one-note melodies and lyrics. She could've done much more with this tbh.

How was Applause dated in 2013? What older songs did it sound like in 2013? :deadbanana2:

It sounds like Girl Gone Wild by Madonna and Let There Be Love by Xtina with the EDM synths. I think it was meant to come out earlier but got delayed after the injury so it sounded dated when it came

This is listenable, unlike WW, I don't know what were they thinking with that. If only this was the lead instead WW, the result would have been less disastrous :rip:

This are the whole lyrics cutting off the repeated ones

Quote

I'll love you for lifetimes

I know you feel it

Can you believe it

I'm gonna love you 'til the end and then repeat it

Like the sun is always rising Like the stars are in the sky

You and I will find each other in every single life

Baby, you and me

For infinity, my eternity

And you're telling me it took EIGHT people to write that :suburban:???
