Katy Perry - "Lifetimes"

Element
Message added by Element,

Please keep discussion in this thread focused on the song. Discussions about Katy Perry's larger scale career/choices, and other artists should NOT be done here. There are plenty of other places to do so on ATRL. Thank you!

Sounds like the kind of thing Ella Henderson usually jumps on, but honestly I don't necessarily mean that as a drag. There's room for this on UK (and other European countries) radio. It'll be interesting if the Luke tag hinders this though.

Ngl the production is f**king stunning. Well done Puke

Verses are a bit awkward. She has this quacky inflection moment in the pre chorus that is very unpleasant

"BABY you and me"

I'll give it a B- but it's still worth throwing ass to

I think I liked the snippet of this more than the song now that it's out.. I'm not really feeling it. It's OK.

The verses on Woman's World were horribly produced too. The only way I can describe it is it feels like jump cuts in a video. So annoying to listen to. Puke has lost it. Also her voice is giving AI on the bridge again. What is he doing. The chorus is cute but the final one needed some ad libs.

Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, Lukasz Gottwald, Vaughn Oliver, Rocco Valdes, Ryan Ogren, Theron Thomas, Gamal "LunchMoney" Lewis & Sarah Hudson

All those writers for literally 4 lines that aren't repeated :deadbanana4: after a few more listens its definitely an 7.5-8/10

…Meh again.

No growth at all. Endless generic tracks that don't even hit.

i expected worse from Sarah Hudson who let Katy record Resilient so... idm repeated lyrics in an EDM track like this, at least it's not just spammed 20 times what women are like WW

Doesn't that include melody too? Dance songs usually have much more co-writers whether it's Katy, Gaga, Taylor, Rihanna, Ariana or whoever.

would it be any more "inspired" to release 100th song that sounds like Say So this decade?

Aren't you a little disappointed, though?

She basically gave us the whole song weeks ago with that thirty second snippet on socials. Four unique lines...Oh, Katy.

not really with this song itself. just with the entire era. we got her best photoshoot ever, she looks happy and healthy, but she decided to work with him out of all the people in the world... i love the tracks, but i know they could've been 100 times better if produced by someone who's not washed up. i live for the 2010 edm sound that ruled europe when i was growing up so it's really nostalgic to listen to this/watch the vid. mostly disappointed in her being so dumb and not self aware at all.

Way better than Woman's World both the song and video :clap3:

The beach/clubhopping theme of the video works well with the song, simple yet effective :gaycat:

She also looks stunning

Miles better than WW. Should have led with this. I think the damage WW has done to her brand will stop this going anywhere though.

Sounds like CRJ's Psychedelic Switch lite. It's a serve though but a bit underwhelming since the song is basically the chorus she teased a few weeks before.

I was gagged a little when I saw her name, the only song after Prism I can think of her writing that was good is Dua's Physical

Yeah it's the composer credits from Apple Music so I'm assuming its every single person that was involved
