Katy Perry - "Lifetimes"

Element
Message added by Element,

Please keep discussion in this thread focused on the song. Discussions about Katy Perry's larger scale career/choices, and other artists should NOT be done here. There are plenty of other places to do so on ATRL. Thank you!

I heard that it's sold out on iTunes :clap3:

The video really gives me promo single vibes and I don't expect much of a push for this tbh. I feel like this is more of a "see the album won't be terrible make sure you check out the next single" kinda song.

This sounds like an earlier demo for Walking on Air from an album she released 10 years ago :rip:

not me watching the video more times already than the World War one :rip: just her having fun, looking happy is so refreshing, no cringe for once too

This is bad. The song peaks in the first 30 seconds. You can't have a generic but earworm chorus like this with flat verses. Anyway I'm claiming nirvana to be the bop of the album.

To be this faceless and generic after more than a decade in the industry is kinda insane :deadbanana4:

The way some random music video that she made while in Ibiza is so much better than the "WOMAN'S WORLD" one. :skull:

Love the song. The only weak point is the hollow sounding verse, but thankfully most of the song focuses on the fun chorus, so no problem.

Also, the vocal production seems robotic to me a bit. Though I guess that fits the theme of this album.

It works so good with the vibes of the song

This is a bop, I already played more than WW :clap3:

the hook sounds like a verse. it's very safe and boring for Katy.

This is such a huge upgrade from Woman's World..

Might be generic, and repetitive but I can see this doing good on radio cause it's easy to listen at.

Hope this would save the 143 era from being a colossal bomb

Did she really work with Luke just to produce stuff like this? He couldn't even give her a Say So type of song or something? She's releasing the most generic and uninspired kind of music of her career.

Dang, Capitol really said, NO BUDGET FOR YOU.

Considering the bar was in hell, this at least looks and sounds better than WW, but like WW, it goes nowhere. It's the same thing over and over again lyrically. It'll do nothing commercially but I commend her for not giving up lol.

i mean duh the song/vid are supposed to be dated, it's heavily inspired by 2010 which was the thing that everyone asked her to do on tiktok so...?

everyone can rip off 80s disco and synthpop and it's fine but it's DaTeD to do 2010 club sound ala Inna? please, it's a harmless party bop that people wanted from Katy

would it be any more "inspired" to release 100th song that sounds like Say So this decade?
