Armie Hammer joined Bill Maher on his "Club Random" podcast for a rare interview since a series of sexual misconduct and abuse allegations derailed his career.

The "Call Me by Your Name" and "The Social Network" star said he was grateful for the fallout because "had none of this gone on … my life would have kept going exactly as it was. And I know that that would ultimately only lead in one place, and that's death."

After sexual assault allegations surfaced against Hammer, the actor exited a number of film and television projects and was dropped by his publicist and agent at WME. The LAPD and L.A. District Attorney's office investigated the claims in 2023 and brought no criminal charges against Hammer due to "insufficient evidence." Hammer denies the allegations and holds that his often "intense" sexual relationships with the accusers were consensual.

When asked if he viewed the allegations, many of which were detailed in the 2022 Discovery+ docuseries "House of Hammer," as a "blessing in disguise," Hammer said, "1,000,000%. Yeah."

"I experienced an ego death, a career death, financial death, all of these things. … You've got to die. And once you die, you can then be reborn," Hammer said.

Becoming a pariah due to the allegations was "incredibly liberating," he added, because previously Hammer was "preoccupied with how I was perceived, which now don't have to care about."

"Once everyone just decides that they hate you, you go, 'Oh, well, then I don't need anything from you people anyway,'" Hammer said.

Armie really got canceled for having cannibalistic fetish. I can't.

:skull:

His ex-wife pressured and watched friends send emails to journalists and one of them felt guilty enough to spill the beans that they were pressured.

Of course no one reported on this but the one outlet she reached out to.

A now former friend of Chambers, who allowed Chambers access to her email account, provided emails and screen shots of text messages to CNN, which show that Hammer's ex allegedly posed as this woman and sent messages to press outlets using her account. The woman, who has asked not to be named in CNN's report, citing privacy for her family and children, said she is coming forward because she feels things "went too far" as she was trying to "support my friend while she was going through a difficult divorce."

CNN has also obtained screenshots of text messages between Chambers and her former friend discussing the impersonation. The woman told CNN that she would sometimes speak to reporters on the phone, while Chambers stood beside her and told her what to say, adding that she felt "pressure" to keep up the charade.

did he invent a cult or something

I do get what he's saying in the last bit. Once you get over the initial shock of losing these people do you realise that you never needed them in the first place.

You care less about what people think and realise their opinions about you are not important and that is very liberating, you no longer feel enslaved to them or feel like you need their approval or validation.

Armie looks so much happier and healthier now. Happy for him that he escaped the Hollywood death cult and got to experience truly living.

I hope he got help, cause those fetishes seemed extremely unhealthy.

I understand where he's coming from and it's good that managed to make the best out of this horrible, but much needed situation.

His wife has been wanting divorce for a while. :deadbanana2:

Plus many of the girls who told their stories and accused him continued to see him after the "cannibalistic threats". (Literally he's just being fetishistic. :deadbanana: Don't we all get freaky?)

Anyway, he's one actor that didn't deserve to be canceled. He just surrendered to it and the image of him being a cannibal seems to have stuck to the public.

Absolutely.

He didn't rape anybody and he didn't assault anybody and he didn't force himself onto anyone... He was cancelled bc people thought he was literally eating human beings - which in itself is so stupid and ridiculous.

He's also won each and every court thing that was going on...

I've always supporting and defended him. He did not deserve the backlash.

He also takes really good care of his children. He said that he's bringing them to school and picking them up every single day (when they are with him). No cannibalistic serial murderer would even get joint custody.

He also said that he was able to amend his relationship with his father - who died of brain cancer... and cared for him until he passed away.

Armie Hammer was framed... and the media abused their power. Hollywood did him dirty as well.

girl licking feet it's different from eating human blood :suburban:

Saying that if it's consensual and between adults it's consensual

But he didn't EAT people or lick blood. He was just saying it on texts. You know, as fantasy?

And the girls were in on it too - feeding into his fetish fantasy. They continued to see him even after these "creepy" texts.

He didn't rape, abuse, hurt or assault anyone. They were all consensual.

He's a weirdo. I get the fantasy and all but I wouldnt count out him having k*lled and buried bodies somewhere with the money and connection he has. He's a creep good thing he'll never make a comeback in the current landscape. The good thing about cancel culture is it teaches men to behave with women on sets and respect the crew. The downside is a man can get falsely accused by a vengeful ex, co worker and the public and the industry would cancel him immediately even without proof.

He had multiple sexual assault allegations baby

I know the cannibalism fantasies became the main story but the truth is he was accused of actual physical abuse too

Oh wow so he basically got framed for nothing?

It was always weird to me how a lot of these "people" come together out of nowhere. Everytime there is a cancellation ritual happens the same thing. And these girls still saw him lmao

He is definitely a weirdo tho, but I think that with basic therapy this gets fixed. It's just thoughts basically.
