KatyPrismSpirit Posted July 16 Author Posted July 16 (edited) Tbh unpopular opinion, but guilt by association gets taken too far out of context nowadays. You can be friends with someone who has other political beliefs than you. Edited July 16 by KatyPrismSpirit 16 6 9

You can be friends with someone who has other political beliefs than you. I used to be very much that guilty by association and it leads to a miserable existence. You will find something wrong with everyone and hate everyone eventually. Like I get having limits. But if you are actively seeking something to hate about everyone you will be forever lonely and it is sad so many are this way now 23 4
Monster Queen Posted July 16 Posted July 16 I actually doubt will there be any A-lister show support to Democratic this time, especially when we all know that Trump has already won the election 4 1 1 2 1
ohjulia Posted July 16 Posted July 16 This is so pathetic. I'm not sure if this depends on culture, but I've always been friends with people supporting different political groups. Only in the US are people alienated for thinking differently than someone else. 6 2 1

Bonicap Posted July 16 Posted July 16 (edited) She has taken pictures with people that vote for Republican politicians before, like Katy Perry for example. So it's not new. Edited July 16 by Bonicap

If you're a minority who's going to be more affected by policies and dog whistles it's a lot harder. I'm Black British and would never be friends with someone who supported a racist far right party like Reform. Edited July 16 by CaptainMusic 41 10

ChooseyLover Posted July 16 Posted July 16 I get the vibe Travis must be the one of the group attracting that kind of people.

If they support Trump then they're most likely bigoted in some way, whether it's racism, misogyny, homophobia,, transphobia or all of the above. If you want to be friends with someone like that then that's up to you, I can't relate though and thank god my friends feel the same. 29 2

Only in the US are people alienated for thinking differently than someone else. It's very different here because our two main political parties are polar opposites. Associating yourself with Trump is basically saying you're in support of an authoritarian religious-based government and everything that comes with that. Trump's entire platform is to push policies that are in a conservative "grey-zone" that are "open to interpretation" so states can pass extremely dangerous policies with no way for the national government to stop it. piotrert Posted July 16 Posted July 16 there are over 100mln republicans out there, i bet one of the relatives of this person is republican, they interact with dozens republicans everyday on normal basis (probably not really, as they are might be too terminally online to go outside). expecting that you won't interact with republican in your life is truly only person on twitter would come up with. 1
Cleanromantic Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Is there really a good party to support in the US anyway. Like both candidates are senile monsters and both parties are two sides of the same coin . 3 2 4
