BrokenMachine Posted July 11 Posted July 11 It's insane how some users deflect supporting a victim of SA into weird stan wars. This is Kesha, a big celebrity with tons of hits, and some try to downplay her experience just for 'being a flop'. Now imagine if this was your own mother, sister or even yourself, a literal nobody to the court system, like, do you deserve to be treated with less respect just for 'being a flop'? If the court system fails to a millionaire like her who spent over a decade trying to get a way from a POS like him... what would you expect to happen in a similar situation to someone like you? I got sick from reading some posts in this thread, I guess I'll have to use my ignore list for the first time 2 6
jees Posted July 11 Posted July 11 (edited) I don't like much of Katy's work and think her new song is trash. However she has the right to work with whoever she wants, others problems are not her problems. I find it very childish and problematic to feel entitled to say how people should act. Like that friend in school that told you not to be friends with someone they didn't like. To each their own. If she wants to work with a rapist that's her choice, if she wants to be friends with Gypsy Rose that's her choice too Edited July 11 by jees 3

I guess she would have gotten way less backlash if she didn't try to profit off feminism with her new song while working with someone like him. Also, she took the 'woke' flag in 2017 and made many people believe she distanced herself from him because of that. It turned out, as the court papers say, that she only distanced for the sake of her own public image. Many people in ATRL like to call out Taylor for 'being performative' in many things, but for this case, Katy turned out to be performative when it comes to being 'woke' and 'feminist', she will only take those flags whenever she can take profit from it Edited July 12 by BrokenMachine 1

The absolute severe lack of empathy or compassion and taking this very real and awful situation and turning it into stan wars makes my stomach turn. 4
Titanbaddie Posted July 12 Posted July 12 It's very interesting to me the people who are so against the posting and discussing of viral tweets when you could just so easily just not engage in those discussions if you're so against them. it's a forum and people are allowed to talk about the things that they find topical and one of those things is social media discussions. 1 3
