Everyone should consider retiring if they can, mean personality or not. What's the point of a hefty Donald Duck pile of cash if you're out on stage every morning entertaining peasants in doctors offices and pushing diaper commercials? Can't be all that great.

Good riddance. I've heard accounts from people who have been in her studio audience. The second the cameras are off, she went cold. The image she presented to the public versus the person she really is - night & day. Meanness can be forgiven. But don't make your entire brand happy go lucky, aww shucks, peppy, chipper, etc when you're not like that at all. She should've leaned into the ***** thing when the news got out tbh

Whew. And the way she covered that with "I'm a strong woman". Girl bye.

She could've had a comeback honestly, I don't think her downfall was something irreversible if she had actually owned up to things and made a show-able effort to change. But she seems to just be whining and playing victim which is sealing her fate as a bitter Betty lacking self awareness.

Also the elephant in the room about her downfall is that once you snatch away her "nice lady" image like was done so publicly in 2020… there is NOTHING else there to support her. When you took that away, it became painfully evidently how unfunny she has always been.

Yea I think she played into being a one dimensional character for so long that she didn't care enough to rebrand or change, and was just like "F*** it" and left.  She was very important during the 2000's and 2010's for queer representation and normalizing queer people in the public eye, that's mostly why I don't really like how the public has so quickly switched on her.  But yea she could have saved her career if she really wanted to.

Honestly this is not fair, people canceled her for something that she didn't do. I absolutely hate cancel culture and vultures.

And this post represent everything wrong with cancel culture. She's not there to cuddle anyone, she's there to work. When cameras are off she is not obligated to lick the ground extras walk in.

The worst accusations against her were that her producers were mean and she wasn't friendly with everyone 24/7.

And let me remind you that you don't know what every person in the world is going through before you point fingers at someone not being happy when cameras are off.

THIS is how the world treats strong lesbian women. It's extremely sick and twisted.

Imagine being bitter because you were exposed for being an A-hole.

I mean yes compared to other hollywood stars her "crime" isn't THAT bad but when you refuse to make eye contact with fellow human beings because you think you are above them or you go out of your way to make their day a living nightmare it means something is up with you and you are a very flawed person.

one of the few times cancel culture actually worked

Yeah. She deserved to be cancelled for what she did but I wish cancel culture actually stuck for straight men who absolutely deserve to be cancelled

Ego, for one. And while they may live lavish lifestyles, most of them have bills that are proportionate -- they'd have to cut back on yacht trips, private islands, etc. As rich as they are, they still have to work to maintain that lifestyle.

Her legacy is truly tarnished for good. The way she was Hollywood darling for so many years. And now she's like Harvey Weinsteind.
Only thing missing is jail time.

Some ATRLers being disgusted by her antics meanwhile I've read posts on here of members saying they touched themselves thinking of their school bully calling them the f slur :toofunny2:

Not to mention, they say far worse and meaner stuff about celebrities here on the DAILY :deadbanana:

I don't really care for Ellen but man this forum is such a huge hypocritical hell-hole :ahh:

What's crazy is that she could've completely turned this around, but instead chose to pout and stomp her feet and refuse to admit any wrongdoing.

It doesn't matter if she wasn't intending to hurt anyone's feelings. She did. She needs to fix it.

Dakota Johnson really paved the beginning of her end, didn't she?
