I mean, you could try to "spin" it this way, but then the fact that Doja Cat has spoken out against him for taking publishing for songs he did not work on and that Becky G literally sued him for stealing money from her would run counter-intuitive to that narrative. This is why this contrarian argument style doesn't work.

"Oh, you think Dr. Luke is a bad person? Well what if I turned around and said I think he's a good person!?!?".

Well, one argument has evidence and the other does not.

All of this is not good obviously, I can't even speak on the Becky G lawsuit bc I'm unaware of it, but no where am I saying he is a good person.  However, there is a trend here that doesn't seem that different from what is experienced at any other record label.  The entire industry is very messed up but most of the allegations and accusations against this man aren't unique given the context, but I agree that doesn't excuse him in any way.  The only thing I said was that him giving opportunities to people who are considered a minority is *not* predatory and *could* be considered a small good thing.

Please go through and answer each of the below:

  • Is Kesha a liar?
  • Is Kelly Clarkson a liar?
  • Is P!nk a liar?
  • Is Doja a liar?
  • Is Becky G a liar?
  • Is J Kash a liar?
  • Is Ammo a liar?

I don't, to any of these!  But again, what, aside from Kesha's accusations, are unique to Luke as a producer?  Unpaid royalties, owing someone money, demanding credit for something they had little or nothing to do with, etc... it's all bad behavior that is literally normal in that industry.  Hell some of ATRL's faves are still doing this in 2024  :deadbanana4:

I mea, yes, that's the core argument of this issue. People who like and support rapists are enabling rapists. If you wanna cap for a rapist, own being pro-rapist? :michael:

"Maybe people like working with him???" I mean, the people who work with him are also literally those mocking the woman he raped:

Do you seriously think all of the people who work with him do so because they "like and support rapists"?  I don't think any of these artists think Luke raped Kesha, especially people like Katy and Kim.  I think Kim even said something along the lines of that she wouldn't work with someone if she thought they did something like that.  Drag the artists for not believing Kesha but once again, no one is forcing them for continuing to have a positive working relationship with him.  He is in demand, and it has nothing to do with the allegations.  There are more people who like working with him than those who do not.

Aside from Baby e (isn't that person problematic for other reasons anyway?), Lourdiz (idk her)'s photo could have nothing to do with Kesha nor do you know for a fact that it's related.  Kim did not mock Kesha at all, please see what I shared above.

Also, for someone who is seemingly trying to gotcha someone, I think you might need to do a bit more research:

he gave Kim Petras a shot when no one else would in the industry

And for someone who once again seems to be obsessed with this man, what the **** does Kim's current deal have anything to do with Luke giving her a chance when she moved to LA without any record deal, no one wanted to sign her, and she ran out of money?  Why is anyone shocked she sticks with him?  I get hating him for what he allegedly did to Kesha but get it through your dense brain that Kim has every right to feel defensive of the person who gave her a home, a career, and continues to be someone she can rely on.  Luke has only showed her extreme grace, so no she is not going to feel ashamed of being associated with him.  It once again does not negate what he allegedly did to Kesha, but like, do you see how this is a lot more complicated than you want it to be?

the OP split the quote in half and left out the most comical part aw

A source said: "Katy has been a fan of Kim for some time and everything they stand for. Both of them have worked with producer DR LUKE in the past so the collaboration happened quite organically. Lyrically it's a very tongue-in-cheek track which is sure to raise a few eyebrows."

"ORGANICALLY"?? :fan:

Idk if I have been living under a rock but LOL why is everyone freaking out if she does a song with Kim? Why is Kim so problematic?

Bc her album Turn off The Light washed every girl's existence and the gworls are mad.

I just know this will have the same ass bassline Vaughn Oliver used in all of his songs, couple of drum loops from his splice packs that's been used in every single song for the past 5 years and few analog synths that everybody heard already. Luke will press the recording button so he can get credit and the popper sniffing twinks will cream their jockstraps over the same recycled song they already heard by Slayyyter, Ava Max etc...

"Electro" is such an outdated term to me lol. It's like old people asking if you've been to the "disco" lately :rip:

Anyway I'll be curious to hear her album, not gonna lie I don't have very high expectations but perhaps she'll prove me wrong

which term would you use for electronic then?

What has she been doing man?... :rip: I already have a strong feeling that this will be her last album but to see her leave music this way is so tragic for a fan like me who has been listening to her since the age of seven. I already have no hopes of the album being great after reading reviews from insiders and hearing the snippet.
