glitch Posted June 18 Posted June 18 The way I was literally thinking this in the interview I was like wait where did Thank U Next Ariana come from?
Red Velvet Posted June 18 Posted June 18 I think she finds it difficult to shake the voice training for glinda
IBeMe Posted June 18 Posted June 18 yall have never watched some of her long format interviews have u because she literally switches voices, tone and even style like multiple times mid sentence sometimes She low key has an iconic identity crisis lol. But it's endearing 2
aesthetic bih Posted June 18 Posted June 18 5 hours ago, duybeeGAshantiGA said: Also for some who dont know and msy criticise her for doing this, talking in the second bit of the video (in higher but softer voice with the right voice placement) protects and maintains your voice better. You will do less damage to your vocal cords. That's what I learnt from singing/vocal training sessions. So in the video, you can actually see that's there's small gap between the voices and she actually looks like she remembered that she had to switch up to protect the voice now. Here's a video of her talking about this technique: Wait, I still don't get it. Is speaking in a high pitch voice healthier than speaking in a lower one, is that what this means?
Asscatchem Posted June 18 Posted June 18 TIL its for vocal preservation, i thought she was "codeswitching" 2
My Tears Ricochet Posted June 18 Posted June 18 she sounds so sexy here I never knew she sounded like that 1

You also need to speak a bit softer and most importantly, VOICE/VOCAL PLACEMENT! It's like you have to place your voice a bit in front of your face or at least around your sinus area, not right at your throat. It's actually quite basic and one of the first thing you learn when you go to vocal lessons. 3 1

Communion Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Are people really pretending to not know her voice is deeper? It's always been deeper than the Glinda voice, which is why the Glinda voice is so jarring since even when she would try to sound soft and feminine, it was raspy and whispered. Her natural tone has always been raspy and sardonic. (There's rightful criticisms about her as a white person using AAVE so the below video is mainly to show how her tone goes up and down in interviews constantly): https://x.com/rollymollykd/status/1544366879304830976 Y'all weren't watching her stories on moonlightbae throughout the years?
Uncatena Posted June 18 Posted June 18 but like literally... what is this? like is this psychological or something? im genuinely fascinated. 2

Frozen99 Posted June 18 Posted June 18 i'm honestly perplexed, i've never noticed this is it really healthy to force her normal speaking voice higher?
