I don't think they necessarily hate it from what I've read. The relationship between these two women is likely a lot more complex than the snippets we see publicly, and these songs were probably finished long enough ago (in order to get vinyl pressed and ready for shipment) that it's possible they've talked and connected a little bit since the material that's speculated to be about Lorde was recorded.
