ICLDXU4HS Posted May 26 Posted May 26 (edited) Going by the lyrics, I'm 99% sure it's about Swift. Charli and George started dating not long before May of 2022. The 1975 didn't go on tour until November of that year and Healy and twigs had already broken up by June so there wouldn't have been a time she had to see twigs "backstage at her boyfriend's show" and the two relationships only overlapped for a few weeks anyway (or not at all depending on how long Healy and twigs were already broken up when it was announced). BRAT started being recorded right around the time Healy and Swift were dating in early 2023 so "I hope they break up quick" makes sense (and would make little to no sense with twigs as she was dating Healy for several years, not just a few months). Swift debuted Anti-Hero at a 1975 show in January of 2023 which got a lot of attention + Swift didn't go on her own tour until mid-March (same month Charli started recording BRAT) so she would've been free to spend time backstage at the rest of their tour dates in January which checks out. "I don't wanna share this space" also makes more sense with Swift. I'm sure in spaces a global megastar is present they automatically become the center of attention whereas twigs seems like she'd be very quiet, chill and low-key to be around. There's also not a shred of evidence the sub-tweet from February 2023 was about twigs. It's only based on assumptions because they attended the same event the day before or whatever. Sometimes she feels like she could be as pretty or successful or niche as other artists. Maybe the artist in question here is Taylor, but the song is more about Charli and her feelings and not a diss at Taylor. 3 1
