jack only makes generic songs

I think a producer can only do much with the singer/songwriter talent.

 

Jack's best work is with Lana Del Rey... he produced A&W, he has talent but when he works with Taylor well he cannot really shine because he gets limited.

My main problem with Billie (and to some extent Finneas) is that she frequently sounds as bored as the consistent expression on her face. I'm listening to her new album right now and it's not the worst, but she still sounds bored out of her mind on a lot of these tracks.

Jack Antonoff could never work with her because he'd never be able to fix the fact that she sounds bored as ****. Finneas does a phenomenal job given what he's working with and I don't hate him for it. That being said, because Jack works with so many different people, he seems to have more versatility overall (though yeah, a lot of his stuff is starting to sound samey, but he's been doing this for a while and it's bound to happen.)

I didn't even argue that Jack is bad; he produced some of my favorite albums ever.

 

It's the tier listing of fandoms that took me out.

In 2024? Yeah probably. 

 

I don't think I'd discredit Jack for his earlier work though. 2017-19 felt like he was in his peak, and he really worked with a lot of talented people. Whereas Finneas I, personally, didn't enjoy his production very much (don't really like Billie's debut album/earlier work, nor his work with other people such as Tove Lo in 2020). 

 

It doesn't help that, again in my opinion, his worst stuff usually is with Taylor and he's pretty much the main artist he's working with. Whereas Finneas and Billie have both been getting better together with HTE and again with Hit Me.

jack was far way better before 2022, today hes trying too much and its making better music with Bleachers then when he collab with another artists

idk melodrama's production really gives him the edge for me when all is considered
