Why the top-tier pop vocalists keep decrease in quantity over time?

 

Why do we only have Ariana Grande as the only popular vocalist now? Is it because people want to stan Taylor Swift nowadays so they neglect the vocalists?

they don't think artists like miley, dua (new generation), or even a example of someone enjoying their first hit now like sabrina lack vocals 

and they also didn't leave artists like beyoncé and adele in the past 

so that's the reason. they don't think during their day how ariana is a better vocalist than dua. they just listen to it.

Your reasoning is hilarious. Especially when you include Janis Joplin with Aretha and try to argue against Adele being with Ariana Grande. 
 

and to add, your whole system makes no sense considering you have Beyoncé and Lady GaGa for 00s but not the subsequent decades when they are still successful and active but have Ariana for both 10s and 20s. 

I'd argue Miley is. I see so many of my GeePee friends praising her vocal style the same way Ariana is praised on here

Pop music was different back in the day. We don't even consider Aretha Pop now but she was Pop back in 1960s.

You said Adele had a decline so that's why you hesitate to put her there but put Leona who only lasted for 1 era?  And whether you like it or not, Adele is vocalist.

Nobody sees Ariana as a vocalist. Miley's voice is more renowned

Ariana is an amazing singer and i love her songwriting so much but she was never even close to Whitney/Mariahs/Celines level, in my opinion.

 

And people in here saying Miley... um. Miley is a great vocalist but she's not able to do crazy runs or ad-libs. I mean she has this husky voice now and can't do a lot with her voice.

Because she's the only one here thanks to sheer talent. She has music ingrained in her DNA. Except for Doja, Dua and Billie, all of the other girls are disposable label trends who have no business being in a recording booth, much less on a stage.

What are you basing your opinion on? She deliberately always says she choses not to oversing in her pop music but outside of her ponytail persona Ariana is undisputedly a grand vocalist. I'd even say she's superior to Xtina. Ariana was singing on broadway before being a teenager and got signed due to her Mariah cover of emotions, a song a very very few can sing in this world

True musician/artist, can actually sing, is very likeable and is a very decent actress in her own right

No one is doing it like Ariana and she'll always be known as the biggest and most talented pop artist of the late 10's and 20's

It's probably because of the rise of alt pop/singer songwriting. These genres don't really require excellent vocals to be appealing or to fill stadiums (Taylor, Lana etc.) 

 

I feel our parents' generation went to see artists live because they wanted to see an impressive show, whether that's music from bands or great vocals from a MPG. Our generation wants to go to shows to see our favourite songs performed. 

Kelly gworl still blows everyone out of the water. 

This is not a thread it's an informercial for Ariana Grande.

Everyone claiming miley lol she can sing and even belt no question but she's more of a nasal rockstar type singer. She's not in demis league much less Ariana's.
