I'm confused as to why she uses the lgbt card as to why GLAAD should cut ties to that organization. Is the fact that they are supportive of Israel not enough reason? I'm pretty sure that queer Palestinians have other things to worry about right now than not being able to be themselves. Not everything revolves around queerness, especially when there are bombs dropping directly above you and your family.

GLAAD is exclusively LGBTQ-focused. That's why. If queer people don't support queer people then who will?

But Israel is commiting crimes against a whole entire nation, not some lgbt-exclusive village. That's why I thought it was irrelevant to mention queerness on a topic like this as if queer people are the only ones suffering right now in Gaza.

And whilst the treatment of queer people in the Middle East is disgusting and terrifying… what's also disgusting and terrifying is the fact that 40,000 + Palestinians have been murdered at the hands of their colonisers. It is right that we speak up about it and demand action. Queer or not.

What's also wild is that people expect issues of civil rights which are still being fought for in the supposedly liberated West (gay marriage is not even legalized in Israel), to have been figured out by a people who have been violently occupied in the last seventy-five years; as though that would be on the top of things to do while starving and dodging bullets and bombs!
