KKKIMO92 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Released by Legacy label is probably why there's no new song on the album. She better release an album next year or we been waiting for another 4 years while she's very actively touring.
ttsmu Posted June 21 Posted June 21 I thought that at least all the tracks would be remastered, but they only used the remastered versions from Let Go 20th. All of the other tracks are the same. I don't really get what's the point of this release. Everyone one could do a playlist with all of her hits, including Hot, WYWH, Alice, etc in Spotify. Not even a new song on it.

Not even a new song on it. I see some reasons. Even though the songs are not remastered, they are available in Dolby Atmos for the first time. She has never had a greatest hits album before, so the physical release for collectors is notable, especially now that the physical industry is in a better place. It can also introduce her music to new audiences who might not be familiar with her work. Most importantly, she is focusing 100% on reinforcing her legacy status. She knows her fans used to be dedicated, but maybe they think it's time to wave to some casual listeners. Promoting and having press about a new release may be an attempt to reach a new audience and keep her name in the spotlight. Also, I can see this is a strategy to boost streams for these songs and help them achieve higher certification as part of her legacy management strategy. I'm not saying I support it, tho. Lol! I think it's SO stupid! And I don't think she will achieve half of these goals. But I assume these are the strategies behind it, even though she will probably fail. 1
Prince George Posted June 21 Posted June 21 I must admit this GH album has no skips, it's an hour and ten minutes of pure earworm. Haters will always hate though. 2
Burn Posted June 21 Posted June 21 (edited) I enjoyed this. Believe it or not there are people who actually wanted this release. I've wanted Avril to release a GH for a long time because I like her hits but not enough to listen to the full albums, and that's no shade, that's just my own relationship with Avril's music, so to have this collection is very neat! I'm just saying that I understand why her fans may not appreciate this release as much - but there is an audience for it - people like me. And it means I'll probably listen to Avril's music more than I did before so that can't be a bad thing. Edited June 21 by Burn 2

Avril debuts new Boyfriend You can tell by just looking at him that this is just a dick appointment material, not a longterm boyfriend material Avril probably doesn't want any real relationship or husband after that Nickelback guy 1
PaloSanto Posted June 21 Posted June 21 it's a really great listen tbh but wish they had added the missing singles at the end of the digital edition at least. Hot, KHO, Alice, WYWH all really deserved a spot here
xXavril Posted June 21 Posted June 21 I like that it's 20 songs, but some of these choices are questionable. I'm A Mess, Bois Lie, AND Love It When You Hate Me but no Hot 1
Cqmerqn Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Unpopular opinion, but I wish more greatest hits were released. I know that we can just create a Spotify playlist, but having a vinyl with just the hits is cute! I imagine they only did this for the money from vinyl and a cute rise in streams. 1
Tyrion_LMG Posted June 21 Posted June 21 The fact that still pisses me off is that she refused to include a new single or two, just like P!nk and Kelly did back in the day. I mean, this thing is pointless in streaming era. Plus, where the hell is Wish You Were Here miss Lavigne? That song is bigger than 60% of the songs she included. 2
selena_lavigne Posted June 21 Posted June 21 This album is just reminding me that half my songs are inspired by this Queen.
selena_lavigne Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Like COME ON ARE YOU SEEING WHAT I'M SEEING? She just dropped a effing banger of a greatest hits project. EVERYBODY STREAM. 1
Ivan_brit Posted June 21 Posted June 21 #1 Global imagine if she actually had released with new songs 1
Robburro Posted June 21 Posted June 21 what the hell being 4x platinum while my flop ending being 2x… oh Godbye Lullaby don't end Under My Foreskin like that 1 1 1
Bends Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Do you think this album will chart for a couple of weeks on the Billboard or will it be there for a long time after streaming all the songs?
KKKIMO92 Posted June 22 Posted June 22 2 new songs with Alice, Hot and WYWH added will be iconic. if the lengthy is the problem, bois lie and I'm a mess can go.
