P!NK is known for her edgy style. her truth hitting lyrics, and never holding back. she speaks her mind and isn't afraid of what people think. She is P!NK.  and we love her for that.

 

But what if she didn't adopt the P!NK moniker? what if she used just her first name: ALEC!A. Would she have had the same career? for better? for worse? Or would her talent have overcome any potential stage name change?

I really don't think her success was ever dependent on her name? every album feels like it's been P!nk as much as every album could've been Alec!a

 

I honestly think every successful popstar could've had their hits under a similarly brief and catchy name. I don't think Gaga would be as successful with her name being Stefani Germanotta, but I do think if she was Lady Starlight (lol idk why that's the first one I think of) or Lady Stef she would've been just as successful for example. if Robyn was never Robyn, and Rihanna was instead Robyn, she could've had the same level of success in america. I'm not shading Robyn btw I'm just thinking of more examples

 

if Katy were still Katy Hudson and never had released that christian album, I could still see her having the same level of success. Katy Hudson, imo, is just as catchy and all-american as Katy Perry

 

it's all about the length and catchiness of the name imo. Stefani Germanotta is too wordy, Alecia Moore is a bit too run of the mill. Marina Diamandis is too wordy, Marina is the perfect length. Lizzy Grant is too run of the mill, Lana Del Rey is perfect. Lana Rose or Lana Bell would be perfect too. Kelly Clarkson and Kelly Brianne are equally perfect. there's so much catchiness in that name that isn't present in Alecia Moore for some reason...
