Scandalous Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) she NEEDS to work with better producers this and stealin love just sound so low budget and the $5 visuals aren't helping. i thought she was on a major label? Edited May 3 by Scandalous 1

tbhmatt Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Apparently Leigh-Anne has said that everyone will "know all of the words to every song" on the EP before her show in June, so it seems like the whole thing will be out by the end of this month, early June at the latest. I hope they just drop the rest of the EP together, please don't drip feed us one song at a time.
The Slayer Posted May 3 Author Posted May 3 Each song is progressively getting worse, girl just drop it and put us out of our misery This 'strategy' isn't doing her any favours. 1 2
ImpressMeMuch Posted May 3 Posted May 3 She sounds like Rihanna on this omg It's weak for a single in that it's too short and isn't dynamic, but the exaggeration in here is tiring bc it's obviously not getting "single treatment" - she's just dripping out the EP with visualizer style videos and yes, this doesn't have major label production bc it's... a side project. I swear some of y'all will never give up on finding ways to uniquely minimize Leigh Anne. 1

Verse - chorus and repeat then ends. The songs subject isn't really easy listening to me personally - it is a song about cheating which is an uncomfortable and unrelatable subject for me and many others. It also imo glorifies this and almost tries to justify the cheating. Makes me feel a bit icky. I have to agree here - it's honest but... to a fault lol

I don't think there's an exaggeration here, we don't have to be positive just because we've loved Leigh-Anne since 2011. It is fine for us to not like the song, i'm excited for the album songs. 1

Oh yeah I have no issue with people disliking it, I just feel the expectations around a glorified gift to the fans (this EP) are a bit unfair Your next post was perfectly timed tho on that note... pumped for September! 1
tbhmatt Posted May 3 Posted May 3 8 minutes ago, The Slayer said: Waiting for September Yeah, this is what I assumed would happen, release the scraps of the original album as an EP to keep the fans satisfied whilst she redoes the entire album and then try another hard launch 2.0 with a proper "big single" Kinda feels like, from the label's perspective, that the single launch in September will be a "last chance" situation to get that big commercial hit, I really hope it works out for her. I am excited to hear the rest of her material and hope that her new music reflects the things that are missing from the EP tracks so far.
The Slayer Posted May 3 Author Posted May 3 I just don't get what good they get out of releasing the 'worst' songs first? Especially if she claims this music is to build her fanbase, but there is no promo to do that? I'm just lost on the strategy, if there is one. I'm really shocked she hasn't jumped on a DJ collab for the summer to get a hit, or atleast a song that will chart.

I think these EP songs are the best of the original album tbh dddd And tbh, if that is the case, it's the right decision to not put out a full length album just yet. There's no point releasing an album if the music isn't good enough. But if you're going to delay your album for over a year, you still have to release SOMETHING. So I guess these songs are just her favourites or the better ones of the original album that she didn't want to get scrapped? I don't know

I agree but the major label backing up isn't quite the reason for the music to sound mediocre. basic example but Billie and her brother. it just takes two talented people who thrive with each other to make interesting music and neither one of them was "big" when they started. just passion and creativity. Leigh should find people who are talented and work in her favors to bring the best in her. I bet there are plenty of (unknown/talented/gifted) producers/songwriters who would die to work with her. She should just take advantage of that and not just settle for what she is around now cause that ain't the best match. The current group she is with seems like they want just to do their job and bring nothing else on the table. great music and visuals doesn't mean it has to be expensive. it's about creativity and how you pull it off. Here in Finland there is many upcoming artist who produce their own music etc and some friends shoot the videos for beer payment etc. and seem like beautiful high budget productions I just want my girl to have her flowers btw little mix is my 6th played artist this year, I just love all the current and previous ones haha Edited May 3 by alexaalto 1
tbhmatt Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I am going to remain positive for this one, but she seriously needs to stop setting herself up with all this hyperbole, everything with her is "a fricken movie" or "you're seriously not ready for this one" please just let the music do the talking nnnn 2

Jade even said her next music video is a '******* movie' in one of her tiktok comments. All four girls have said Tbf Jesy delivered that with Bad Thing as it was a great video and Leigh served with the ML video! I just will not get over Leigh saying DSL was a movie when that video was rubbish. Perrie saying hers was a movie too Edited May 3 by The Slayer
The Slayer Posted May 4 Author Posted May 4 I guess this was helped by the high placement on NMF! I really hope the other material is stronger, I want to love it. 1

Slightly down on Stealin' Love's first Friday numbers (131k vs 171k) but pretty consistent numbers, albeit not exactly setting the charts alight.
tbhmatt Posted May 4 Posted May 4 After sitting with it for a bit: 1) My Love 2) Don't Say Love 3) Stealin' Love 4) Forbidden Fruit I put Stealin' Love third purely because her first two singles have far better production value, but I have enjoyed those three the most. I'm not entirely sold on this one, it's just lacking something 2
tbhmatt Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Day 1: 131,223 Day 2: 63,278 (-67,945) Total: 194,501 I feel so bad for her
