I don't want to listen to the leaks but can anyone tell me which of her albums is the closest sonically to this?

It's quite literally Midnights 2.0

people who can -actually- discern musical growth begin sharing their opinions

saying this as if you won't be sharing your thoughts on first listen... like be so for real right now.

idk i hate this superiority complex of some fans that taylor swift is objectively good, and thus anyone who critiques her has no music taste or cannot review music. like idk

Also, The Alchemy is obviously for Travis right? It was so cute. The touchdown references, etc

Her vocal delivery is pretty bad on this, it makes the lyrics not hit as hard

Taylor is usually great at delivering a line that makes you really notice particular lyrics

I said I've been there too a few times

They say she was seen on occasion

God rest my soul, I miss who I used to be, the tomb won't close

etc

She really makes you notice these lines and their lyrics when she sings them

She isn't good at making lines hit on this album

I'm not saying this is a Midnights 2.0 but it's definitely the album Midnights should have been in the first place.

Now this is a take I can accept :clap3:

Spoiler

And I luv Midnights, but this is just much better

Did anyone else feel like a lot of songs were giving Evermore vibes or is it literally just me

It definitely gives midtempo Evermore!

The album isn't as deep as I thought it would be. That's my first takeaway from it

It's like Is It Over Now? meets You're Losing Me meets Maroon. imo.

Honestly I took the time to listen to each song multiple times. She really is a musical genius it's so hard to pick a favorite song when all of them were stunning and brilliant (minus The Alchemy)

I wonder if the digital version will be more polished or if this is the final version on the CD.

Wait what's happening why is the thread restarted

Because when it l**ked, people were openly asking for links and ways to listen to the album in the original thread.

A few of the ATRL "insiders" were named this week in some tweets describing aspects of the album that gained some traction, so I can see why the mods would be cautious and strict with this.

Actually ROD has the OG 1989 vaults, & he says the productions got MIDnights'd. So they didn't sound like that initially.

:suburban:

TTPD could've been her best album if she made it at a different time where she wasn't so obsessed with this soundscape, cuz the lyrics are genuinely her best ever.

:suburban:

TTPD is better than MID at least.

WAIT WHAT spill. They actually did midnight the vaults

So from what I'm reading this is better than Midnights but at the same time sounds like a better version of Midnights. I really hoped that she would stray away from  Midnights and go a lil deeper in sound.

As someone who occasionally enjoy a pop bop from Taylor, this album is definitely not for me. I wasn't able to listen to the whole thing but for what I've heard it gave me Midnights 2.0, but less catchy and more same-y (which at the same time means nothing as offensively bad as Vigilante **** on it). Since she has to be the biggest artist on earth, someone please take AntonOFF away from her

Never made it clear never made it right you will always remain famous :emofish:

I haven't heard the album yet, but I've seen too much of the M word thrown around in here to know that I'll probably hate it. :jonnycat:

I would have settled for the F or R word being thrown around more. But I guess she's really gonna ride this Jack Antanoff sound till the wheels fall off.

I'm convinced there is a second album coming, digital only because the reason she's referring to 2 a lot is not coming to me at all.

I hate reading album threads during leaks, it's like all the losers with negative opinions come out of the woodworks and whine as loud as they can before the official release when people who can -actually- discern musical growth begin sharing their opinions

Cause I sure as hell don't remember a lot of these names in the OG thread :michael:

Oh this is a good comparison. Add Long Story Short too.

It's all of that + double the amount lyrics per second.
