ExtraChapstick Posted April 9 Posted April 9 (edited) Tori's next single (from her latest album TORI.) is the opening track, "thing u do." She also performed it live on Jimmy Kimmel tonight (4/8) and ATE the vocals and the choreo. Sorry if you sleep on her. I'll never understand. everytime Posted April 9 Posted April 9 oh she's serving choreo AND vocals in that performance love it victoria 3
xluvxduffxmusicx Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Such a bland and kind of severely dated(?) song. But it's nice to see her up and about again. Also her vocals are always
BrokenMachine Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I love the throwback vibe of the song, 00s are the new 80s 2

Also her vocals are always Sorry you feel it's bland, but I'm ok with the "dated" assessment considering her direct inspiration for the song (and album) is late 90s/early 2000s. She definitely slayed the vocals and it's a huge deal to see her doing choreography.
Nashe Posted April 9 Posted April 9 she deserves better songwriters and producers, she's never gonna breakthrough with such B-list songs. Epic stays the worst label the performance was awesome tho!
goldstargay Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I don't think she cares about mainstream and given the trash taste of the young people these days its not surprising

Epic stays the worst label the performance was awesome tho! The vast majority of the content on this album was written and produced before being shopped to labels and her signing her deal with Epic. She was prepared to do it independently if she had to. She shared that live on Twitch the other night. Out of curiosity, what would you consider the least B-list track on the album? Motivation93 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 This song deserves to smash. Truly have had in on repeat with the spring weather in Canada lol. It just hits perfectly 1

Hopefully now that she's signed they'll link her up with better producers "Cut" definitely. Could've been a proper hit for her in the UK
mrmarrero Posted April 9 Posted April 9 imo, the acapella intro is so Xtina that made me cringe... we know you can sing very well, it wasnt necessary for me. the rest, amazing as usual 1 1
Miles. Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Wow, this is awesome! You can tell Jon Bellion wrote/produced it, his touch is all over this. I liked Missing You as well, and I see JB produced the whole album. I will have to check it out. 2
Saint James Posted April 9 Posted April 9 (edited) the song is not for me... hopefully it gets used for commercials at least Edited April 9 by Saint James

Could've been a proper hit for her in the UK Yeah. I'm not sure what the strategy for promo on "cut" was. Seems like it was dropped and just left there… The MV came out and that was that. Perhaps she wasn't deemed healthy enough to do much promo around its release, but she went on a small tour afterward so… 🤔
Lady Claire Posted April 9 Posted April 9 The song is amazing, wtf are these "dated" posts It's supposed to have a throwback vibe + the Tom's Diner interpolation is so catchy + loved the experimentation with the distorted vocals and the gospel influences. This album has such a unique sound and i'm glad Tori found herself on that lane 1
Harrier Posted April 10 Posted April 10 i need this to succeed for her, the performance was incredible 1
XtinaStripped Posted April 10 Posted April 10 (edited) I wish they saved "Cut" to lead the album. That song should've been a hit. Edited April 10 by XtinaStripped 2

He posted something when she was in the hospital last year, but she hasn't said anything about him this year. She's not with Capitol Records anymore, though. 4 hours ago, Lady Claire said: The song is amazing, wtf are these "dated" posts It's supposed to have a throwback vibe + the Tom's Diner interpolation is so catchy + loved the experimentation with the distorted vocals and the gospel influences. I wish people would just say they're not personally vibing with something and/or don't get it vs trying to talk it down. TORI. is absolutely worth a listen and I hope to see more people give the album a chance. Tori had so much fun and she's about to do a bunch of tour dates, so she's booked and busy. 3 hours ago, Harrier said: i need this to succeed for her, the performance was incredible
