Chantal Kreviazuk strikes again! Calls out Mandy Moore for co-writing snub

Featured Replies

You may recall that Ms. Kreviazuk once made disparaging remarks about Avril:

"I mean, Avril, songwriter? Avril doesn't really sit down and write songs by herself or anything. Avril will also cross the ethical line, and no one says anything. That's why I'll never work with her again. I sent her a song two years ago called "Contagious," and I just saw the tracklisting to this album and there's a song called "Contagious" on it-- and my name's not on it. What do you do with that?"

She later apologized after Avril threatened to sue her.

Now, she has come for sweet angel Mandy Moore.

They co-wrote a song for Mandy's 'Wild Hope' album called "Gardenia".

Mandy has been performing the song recently and also talked about it on Las Culturistas. Chantal is salty that she was not mentioned as the co-writer. See her posts on Instagram:

I kind of get where she's coming from, but does she have a right to be salty?

Which artist talks about their co-writers every time a song is mentioned or performed? :michael:

She should've left sweet Mandy alone and just kept it cute with her original post.

Now let's revisit this classic:

Mandy is literally completely unproblematic she better leave her alone.

Also that's why Slummin' In Paradise is the goat of that album

It's giving bitter. Most Pop songs nowadays have multiple songwriters. The artist isn't going to mention every single person that wrote the song. :rip:

She co-wrote the masterpiece "If I'm Dancing" so she's allowed a weird little rant from time to time

It sounds like a her problem

But she should stream her own bop for words of wisdom

a bit bitter maybe, but Chantal is an absolute genius, and among the most talented songwriters (lyricists especially) out there, imo.

Yeah co-writers are not usually mentioned unless they wrote many songs together. I thought Avril was a singer-song writer though, or was it just in the past?

Also, is the Las Culturas podcast that big of a deal? Why is she making the most

Please, she has been good for like 5 years and that was 20 years ago.

even if I did, I am not simple-minded enough to think that one cowritten track represents an act's entire output. nice try.

Love Gardenia, love Chantal. Why can't the girlies just get along?!

I love Chantal too, but it seems like she's the common denominator when it comes to her having issues with artists.
