It actually makes total sense that she recorded this after the artistic masterpieces that Lemonade and Black is King were. This has the same vibe and spirit in a way.

 

I personally would've loved it if she had released this before as she originally had it planned because the reason why I didn't stan Renaissance is because it seemed like a desperate attempt to remain relevant in such a competitive pop scenario with 80s music being brought back at the time.

 

Nonetheless, perhaps Renaissance wouldn't have been as successful had it been act ii instead.
