Ryan has been a performer since he was a kid, which gives him an advantage over someone like The Weeknd, who had little stage experience and was mainly a studio guy until his pop breakthrough. He's also done musicals (La La Land), so he's trained in singing and dancing, possibly a lot more than someone like Harry Styles who barely does choreo for the type of music he makes. As for JT, I don't know. He's definitely become a lot stiffer and his music has become a lot more boring so this doesn't help him out. I'm pretty sure they're equal.

 

Btw, that performance wasn't even all that. It was cute for what it was (a character song from a comedy), but he looked and sounded bored mostly. I get that that's Ryan Gosling's thing, but let's not act like he gave Beyonce at Coachella. He gave Rihanna when she tries.

I hear what you're saying, but don't you think MPG / MPB should work on improving their sills? That's my biggest gripe with the new generation of MPB/MPG. Like Billie sang with her eyes closed. 

I get they may not have the same level of training as previous generations, but after several years in the industry they should be working on improving their performance abilities.

I think the only artist that has shown improvement from the new generation is Dua Lipa.
