It would be much more interesting for me if Beyoncé covered a more obscure and genuinely unexpected pick, even from Dolly's own discography. Like, the moment there were rumours of a country album people were already suggesting a cover of "Jolene".

 

Guess we'll have to wait and see how it goes. I have no doubt Beyoncé will do a great job, but I hope that, if this ends up being the case, there's some subversion or a twist, or just incorporating a re-recorded sample into a different whole. 

Dolly herself said she wanted Beyoncé to cover this. So it only makes sense. Beyoncé is going to literally eat this era
