Troll Idle Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Another cute lil boring single to please the local German radio stations incoming. Her choice in song material has been awful for years. Everything sounds the same. Outdated, basic, underwhelming. She might be a singer (not a great one though), but fails to build the slightest amount of artistic integrity. There is no passion and no excitement at all. 2
The Next Day Posted March 9 Posted March 9 (edited) I really wish she wouldn't do this droplet era. I understand that she hasn't felt comfortable committing to an album for years now, she's a mother and her private life comes first. But while it feels nice to have a cute bop every six months, those songs can't build the same connection like an album can. I mean, does anyone remember Strip? Looking For Love (her best song since the last album)? For gods sake I forgot about Straitjacket for a quick minute. I don't feel any emotional connection to those songs, even compared to the songs I don't really like from her last album. Sorry for the rant, the snippet is cute but it's a What I Want clone. You know what, that IG announcement is a choice as well, making songs about wellbeing while tagging a luxury resort on the Maldives, this ***** Edited March 9 by The Next Day

prézli Posted March 9 Posted March 9 (edited) The last couple of singles were underwhelming, so I don't put my hopes high. But her tour poster is so great. Edited March 9 by prézli
TheWalkOfShame Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Is she not getting good material anymore?? Like Crystal Sky was such a good album but everything else after that just lost the touch and failed with any artistic direction. And she is not even that successful with it after all (correct me if I am wrong) so maybe she should work on becoming artistic and build her niche and following and stop chasing dated trends… 1

Looking for Love was very good, could've been a lead single material! Her only non-album single that made some noise was If I Wasn't Your Daughter because she was on a TV show and that's it.

What? Only Love, L is her most personal album and it shows (and her best album to date, imo). The single choices were CHOICES, I agree, but Boundaries, Stuck Inside and Love were great. The single choices were CHOICES, I agree, but Boundaries, Stuck Inside and Love were great. As I did enjoy Only Love it never came over that personal to me, more like looking through writing camp stuff and picking what fits fhe “personal narrative”. I know Crystal Sky was probably more writing camp pick and choose but it was more like a vision/voice/aesthetic to me. i really like her and her personality and I think she could be so much more like a household name and an artist so I am checking for her but she just misses the essential album for me idk
prézli Posted March 15 Posted March 15 It's cute and better than I expected. Sounds a bit like Looking for Love, but Looking for Love is better.
MikeS88 Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Crystal Sky feels like the last time that she was fresh, exciting and committed. only love was just a string of cringe worth tracks. The stand alone singles being dropped at such an infuriating pace style of campaign needs to be exterminated ASAP. Too many acts are doing it (Delta, LENA, Darin, Benjamin Ingrosso). Having said that, it’s probably her most interesting single for a LONG time.
ashtray Posted March 16 Posted March 16 i love this! and it looks like this will finally lead to an album. considering her tour starts in June i feel like she will drop it in May
