cityfolk Posted March 10 Posted March 10 more than Positions, album is doing better on Spotify than Positions, 100% has more pure sales, and good promo for the release week..... it's going to be totally fine debut plus the fanbase is raving about the album so we're happy with what we got 5

Truth Teller Posted March 10 Posted March 10 2 hours ago, Villas said: Less than Nicki, well something ain’t clicking.. Nicki did 130k SEA because she had 22 tracks and added 3 more during the release week. Ariana is predicted to do ~110k SEA with half the tracks 2

IBeMe Posted March 10 Posted March 10 This album will do well long term. I can't believe some ppl were saying there are no single worthy songs on here The album is JAM PACKED with potential US hit singles lol. The quality is also amazing. She just NEEDS to make sure she gives us an era with like 4 proper singles (if not more) and all of them must have mvs. 1

Gossip_Boy Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Nicki has always been a bigger album seller so how exactly is it surprising that she’s outselling? And that comparison shouldn’t even be made in the first place as it doesn’t make sense.

Saint James Posted March 10 Posted March 10 My Everything did 169k... shouldn't she have more fans compared to 10 years ago?
M.R. Posted March 10 Posted March 10 The album will do well in the long run so don’t really care about first week sales.
UseYourIllusion2002 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 This is more than her last release, after a 4 year gap, her 7th album, negative press due to her relationship, and coming off a bomb lead single and you guys are still calling this a flop? Her albums tend to have longevity on the charts and in the top 10, so who cares if this isn't a thank u, next level debut. And not the monsters saying "less than Chromatica!!" as if that album didn't plummet out of top 200 after like 33 weeks . Not every pop girl has to debut with massive numbers, just look at random previous releases from the past decades: Daydream - 224,000 Bedtime Stories - 167,000 The Velvet Rope - 202,000 Stripped - 330,000 Dangerously In Love - 317,000 Talk That Talk - 198,000 PRISM - 286,000 3

Into The Void Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Since the prediction is 166-185 and it usually goes up so will probably do about 190k

WTF?
Sombre Posted March 11 Posted March 11 A #1 is a #1. Can we collectively please stop comparing every single pop release to Taylor Swift? It's getting so tired. 1 2

Yeah that’s why I said from ”past decades” my point was that not every album has to open with huge numbers to be deemed as successful. Which is why I used examples from the last three decades.
Robyn. Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I get why some would think it's low, but to be fair she was never the type to pull 500k first week, and that never stopped her from having success in the long-term. This would be disappointing numbers from Adele or Taylor though.
Orsay Posted March 11 Posted March 11 good numbers it feels like some of you are still judging debut #s by the standards from before the rule change a few years ago. Let’s be realistic, and also not compare this to utterly frontloaded releases
