I don't think she's ever admitted it to it being hobbled together but it came out almost half of it were rainbow scraps, and I think she has mentioned she was in a very confusing place mentally and artistically. Not to mention a track was added the day of the release :rip:.

I think in hindsight, pressure from the label to create a more fun commercial friendly album likely played a factor to, even though that's not where she was emotionally.

oh right - I'm thinking of when she was promoting Gag Order

"There are three albums I know in the history of my life that I have put every fiber of my f—ing being into — Animal, Rainbow, and now Gag Order," Kesha tells GRAMMY.com. "I'm incredibly proud of what [Gag Order] is, and who I've become through the process of it."

I often say this, but it was only a few years ago we were unsure if she would ever be able to release anything, ever again. Because of that, I'm elated every time she releases something, no matter what. Whenever this new music comes it'll be the same situation, and it'll have been worth the wait, simply because we once faced an endless and uncertain one. Compared to what could have been, we are in an amazing position, so I truly will never understand the complaints.

Also Resentment was written back 2018 (at least).

Also proves that she didn't write one word in the song (and still snatched credits)

Yeah from what I recall a serious chunk of the album was left on the cutting room floor in 2017 lol

How do we know Kesha didn't write it, sell it, and then get it back?

Also going back to whether Kesha refers to her music (in general) as "bangers".. I doubt that. When she says bangers she means upbeat music. She mentioned in a gag order interview she begged Rick Rubin to put more bangers on the album which he said no it wasn't needed.

From the YouTube description

Madi Diaz & Wrabel performing a song they wrote together (with Jamie Floyd), live at The Hotel Cafe on February 19, 2018. This was part of the "Songs for Mama" night, a benefit concert to raise funds for ALS research in honor of Alali's Mama.

so i just asked and though they never said which titles specifically, but apparently

  • "both Rainbow and High Road tracks were written during her period of not releasing songs after Warrior. And then another half or handful were written during COVID-19, and before Rainbow era ended."
  • Kinky "wasnt even considered for release" on High Road at the time (it was not for Rainbow)
  • "even other tracks she wanted to include before all... this, was going to be on Rainbow, but ended up not happening in the end."

so i would assume she wrote a bunch of songs while in rehab and after she left rehab, released Rainbow and later revisited some old lyrics she wrote and assumingly she never recorded yet (or finished recording) while writing for the next album?

I'd love her to do get more experience DJing and do a boiler room set ala Charli to promote the new album. Could you imagine hyperpop/house remixes of all her classics :jonny6:

I meant that's not new or shot for a special announcement. It's just a recycled concert poster for the show
