I need to understand that most stars out here are just talking about projects wayyyy too early and we end up waiting for things for months when it could have just been announced when there is a SET release date.

Is it a strategy to create hype and force their label to release it at some point? I don't get it.

We’re out of the surprise drop era… Even major artist have surprise dropped these days and the albums go unnoticed.
 

Teasing 2-3 months ahead is ideal now, allowing Twitter, Instagram etc. to build hype

Oh sure, I'm not asking for a surprise drop!

I'm just asking the artists to just talk about something when their label has already told them 'we're gonna release this body of work for sure' and have a MONTH they can announce.

Here I fear it's gonna be rumored for months on end just like SOS Deluxe... Or just might be dropped altogether and we end up we some demos and a bunch of soundbites from Instagram lives.
