Negiiiii Posted March 12 Posted March 12 My hope that she used Carter as a play on words so that she can mix some Hip Hop with the Country as well. wheeeew
bye Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Rodeo is incredibly boring and nowhere near as evocative. I'm glad she went this route. 4
knewbetterpt2 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 (edited) Moment of silence for Reformation/Reconstruction..my clown mask is sitting pretty today but i love Cowboy Carter tbh Edited March 12 by knewbetterpt2 1
Katamari Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Thank god she didn’t call it act 2 cmon outlaw country themes
Erotica Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Not loving the title, feels a bit unoriginal to me, but I am sure it will all come together when the album is out.
SapphireSky Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Why were people actually expecting it to be called act 2 1
Iminmysluttyera Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Love the title! I’m so excited, and glad I become a stan during Act I 😍 5

Probably something like Jlos recent album
Burn Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Certain other girlies could never use their married name in an album title… iykyk.
SpaceOddity Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Just now, BlackJesus said: Probably something like Jlos recent album Exactly. Not to mention the fact I can totally see the immense collective disappointment if it turns out to be a film with people bitching about her not including x song and z song or only using y song for thirty seconds, or some scenes/sets being too short.

She's going to always be referred to as Carter for that very fact alone. They're a unit. It's time to move on and get over it Girl I don't know what to tell you, but for me reducing yourself to your husband's surname twice is kinda crazy, especially when you're f*cking Beyoncé (and I don't care about the actual cowboy connection because even if it turns out to be real, no one is gonna think of that when her husband is right there). Enjoy the title all you want but stop policing people who don't.
Sonny Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Hate the album name it doesn't scream iconic like Renaissance. But who cares we'll be streaming!

Utter nonsense. 2

Enjoy the title all you want but stop policing people who don't. It's not just her husband's though. Her children are Carter's. They've built a family and empire. I'm not policing anything, I'm expressing my opinion on something that's not changing. You're free to not get over it but, it has nothing to do with you. You aren't apart of their marriage and will be replied to about this opinion. 3 1

Utter nonsense. The internet is crazy! I don't like the man that much but I really don't understand those people tbh. What are their married mothers called? Isn't that their husband’s name? What is Tina's Knowles, isn't that her ex-husband name which also happens to be her two daughters' name? People push those weird untrue definition of feminism too far. Had Beyoncé not taken her husband’s name as maybe actresses or singers do, maybe there would be a point but she did. She changed her name. Her official name now is Carter. 1

Not the problems of random strangers on the internet who pretend they have any sort of actual insight into their relationship and judge them on it anyway. 2

Lemonade is finally available on streaming maybe go finally listen to that and understand it's message. Edited March 12 by BnPac

Different strokes for different people I guess Huh? It’s her surname. As well as her husband’s. And even if they ever divorced she’d still have every right to be called Mrs. Carter, the same way Tina Turner was Tina Turner until her death, and the same way Cheryl Cole calls herself Cheryl Cole. Because it’s no more the husband’s surname than it is the wife’s. Edited March 12 by Burn
