Nickimeetsatrl Posted February 12 Posted February 12 He should have hired Rihanna team. But although production was messy, he is such a good performer!
dumbsparce Posted February 12 Posted February 12 He did a fantastic job. The show was full of energy and it was hit after hit after hit. Definitely a big win for him that will hopefully boost his career.
tomo Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) No U Remind Me? Actually, should've open with it. A simplistic start to go through all the slower jams. The middle to the end, great energy though the camera work could be better imo. Edited February 12 by tomo

But Rih did a LEGENDARY SHOW while being pregnant, 5 years without performing and ALONE. Sorry that it still bothers you like that. xo babe 2
shark_heather Posted February 12 Posted February 12 He was amazing , dancing and singing and .... thats it . The rest was bad
Truth Teller Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Ugh he dropped the ball I fear. The setlist was a mess. Some odd song choices, some even more odd omissions and the pace was way off. I feel like every song lasted 20 seconds and then transitioned into something else. The only song that got a real performance was Yeah! The staging wasn't great either. Very messy, busy and un-coordinated. The thing is, his discography is slower and vibey, it doesn't really lend itself to a Supebowl half time imo. And his MJ moves and constant sliding and knee swiping have not aged well past 2005. So, I'm not sure if he could have done much better. It was still better than a lot of recent ones, because he has the talent and skill to be up there unlike Maroon 5, Coldplay (as performers) and Timberlake. But yeah, this was meh for me. 2
Keeandga Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I think this performance was amazing, I loved the big street party feel and it did it’s job because I’m about the check out the new album and look for tickets.

You didn’t mention Abel which shows he’s been the worst and most forgettable one lol 2 hours ago, WeFoundWill said: When we compare the camera work to last year Rih cleared that with EASE. Her show looked so clean and perfected. 2 hours ago, WeFoundWill said: Also this looked DATED as hell like a halftime show that belongs in the early 2010s 1 hour ago, istan4badgalriri said: haha we shall see if Usher gets 30M views & a million likes in the first 24 hrs on YouTube 💕 It’s easy for the camera to stay on someone who isn’t moving and just being lifted. He’s a legacy act now, yeah! came out 20 years ago. The show was supposed to bring that throwback feel back OT: it was fun and full of raw talent. He didn’t need production he WAS the production.

kyris89 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Are there people who actually liked Rihanna's "show"? Lol. Usher's was kinda boring for the most part (the first 8-9 minutes). After that, it gog much better. Nothing beats J.Lo's and Shakira's show
SevenFootSounds Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I really don’t understand the constant urge to compare this to last year’s show and bash Usher like this. He did an amazing show full of nostalgic hits! Every show has its pros and cons, get over it. 2

Gorl you think the GP or the str8s care about camera work or production lol both usher and rihrih halftimes will be loved 1
Vespertine Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Wow, I was totally against the "why is Usher getting the halftime!?" brigade when he was first announced, because he certainly has an impressive catalogue of hits, but that was um... it felt like a really long boring medley with messy transitions that wouldn't even be a standout at the AMAs, VMAs, etc. Somehow all his hits sounded super indistinct besides for Yeah!, everything about the staging and design and camera work was mediocre or jumbled, his mic sounded weird... I'm so surprised I was disappointed with Rihanna's set list last year, but she brought PRODUCTION VALUE, which is what you need to do for the biggest performance of your career. The first 10 minutes were a total slog besides for Alicia's appearance. She totally stole the show and If I Ain't Got You felt 100x more iconic than Usher's discography. As always, women run the world when it comes to the halftime show.
Fleahive Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Why do y’all give more credit to people for not bringing a guest? Gaga ruined the tradition by being selfish and now yall think every headliner needed their guest to be interesting which is further from the truth minus Coldplay . Halftime show is supposed to fun and full of surprises. 1 1
BOOMBAYAH Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) I was rewatching this whilst on my morning walk and audibly laughed out loud when Alicia was off key and the man in front of me was looking at me like “what” Edited February 12 by BOOMBAYAH 3
IamCY Posted February 12 Posted February 12 DJ Fallin in Love was snubbed, by far his best known song for people under 30.

Shinning Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Alicia her off key vocals at the start of If I Ain’t Got You This is why her career is dead. You CANNOT be a R&B singer and be a bad live vocalist. 1
madonnafan18 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I liked it! The ending felt abrupt and there are some other songs I felt he should have included.
Starkboy Posted February 12 Posted February 12 It was ok, he did a good job but it was missing something, the camera didn’t help him at all. The Alicia cameo was cute and she looked snatched. the roller blades part was cool. The ending was quite awful tho
DuffStan Posted February 12 Posted February 12 He did what he needed to do. People will always ask for more, complain, compare.
Jay L Posted February 12 Posted February 12 He did a great job! my family was living for his performance.
