kishi Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Usher did a great job. His dancing is on point, the outfits were great and I loved the celebration of his city and the culture. Sure he was winded at points, but I give him props for the effort. Loved the ending. Lil Jon looked good AF too and I appreciated the surprise artists, voice crack and all. The only issue was the song choices, too many songs and too many from Confessions, which I understand is his most successful album and it's 20 years ago, but that's what happens when you have too many hits!
WeFoundWill Posted February 12 Posted February 12 When we compare the camera work to last year Rih cleared that with EASE. Her show looked so clean and perfected. 1 4
WeFoundWill Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Also this looked DATED as hell like a halftime show that belongs in the early 2010s 2
Delirious Posted February 12 Posted February 12 he was amazing. the show was amazing. the guests were amazing. sure he was very sweaty and out of breath in a lot of bits but i dont think the GP cares nnn only music fanatics
Nashe Posted February 12 Posted February 12 One of my alltime favorite shows. He gave his everything and left his heart on the field. An iconic artist with an iconic catalogue of hits. Did all that at 45, meanwhile yall be physically 60 yr olds at 30 hating from your parents' basements. 1

Walk_Away21 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 It was meh to me. Too many songs like Rihanna where they didn't get any time and felt like a speedrun. Also, the choreography and staging wasn't very good imo.
TaylenaStan Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) The beginning was kinda weak (feel like the audio was off in the broadcast tho), but it picked up and Yeah! was a nice climax.. definitely should have started with Scream/DJ got us falling in love and then transition into the more slow songs tho. The beginning and end are always the most important part of the halftime show and i feel like if you dont come out with a banger people will immediately be like 'meh' Still a great performer Edited February 12 by TaylenaStan
TheCal Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) Usher is a great performer. but that production? the audio? what the hell was that???? it made the show so boring, not even him could save it... sorry but this was A MESS! Edited February 12 by TheCal
Adama Posted February 12 Posted February 12 21 hours ago, Adama said: Usher said he's bringing Atlanta to the halftime show! No way he’s skipping his rnb hits like you make me wanna, u got it bad, burn or caught up Well he only skipped You make me wanna be he indeed focused on his rnb hits ! I’m glad he paid dust to his edm songs except ofc his best one aka OMG! Her and Will iam weren’t needed lol, I even thought it was Kanye for a second . Same for JD, I thought it was Ceelo . I wish Lil Jon performed Snap your fingers instead of Turn down for what… And Alicia sounded so bad, what happened to her voice??? Overall it was a good show, but the stage design, especially at the beginning when he danced on the grass looked weird!
Scheissex Posted February 12 Posted February 12 To compare Usher singing, dancing, and even skating to whatever Rihanna was doing last year is kind of insulting IMO 3 2 1 4
abelfenty Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Meh it was fine but very forgettable. Alicia’s part was atrocious
Zenyte Posted February 12 Posted February 12 This was bad. Not as bad as Bruno/Coldplay and the HipHop one but this was bad.
Doogle Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Compared to the women.. it was kinda meh. But I love Usher and I commend him for PERFORMING. Was it messy? Yes. Too many songs, too much going on. But us ATRL gays always drag men for doing NOTHING so I appreciate the show he put on
Pheromosa Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I think he did great...the production was not amazing though and I wonder how much of it is his fault
The7thStranger Posted February 12 Posted February 12 More or less in line with Justin's rather underwhelming second performance. Confessions/Burn was nice. He relied way too hard on the playback, and the staging during Caught Up looked really messy. Overall, he kind of dropped the ball.
iiswhoiis_max Posted February 12 Posted February 12 He did so great but I felt bored while watching and I can't even tell why. 4
airplane Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) ATRL is used to cheap props and gimmicks and it’s understandable why they didn’t like Rihanna’s performance which was so organised, clean and ahead of its time! The GP has spoken and it’ll remain the most recreated performance in History for a very longggg time Usher did good though. The first half was a snooze. Edited February 12 by airplane 1
thismoment Posted February 12 Posted February 12 This was boring as expected, it won’t be remembered in the future
POPTART Posted February 12 Posted February 12 The performance was fine, but nothing more than that. It certainly is not one of the best. As some users pointed out, there were way too many songs included - I would rather have less songs and make the performance cleaner. Also wtf was that camera work? Truly awful at times. 1
Reginald Posted February 12 Posted February 12 That was a really impressive performance. It's good to see one of the MPBs return to form. He brought energy, sex appeal, and vocals. Triple threat
AxelFox Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Usher performed great but I feel like they didn't have a great vision for this. The staging was rather poor, especially in the beggining. The best part was definitely the middle with the Alicia appearence, Let It Burn & You Got it bad. The roller blades were cool too. 1
