leightxn Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I think everyone needs to realise this is obviously a fun side-project which is dedicated to the fans and it isn't meant to be taken seriously at all. The roll out has been so fun and different. The beats are sick even if some of the lyrics/ideas of some of the songs are a bit too out there such as Wh*le Cock and Banana Boat for me. The rest SLAYS though. Can't stop listening to Rim Job tbh. In all seriousness though Can we f*ck? should have been a 3 minute song I'm OBSESSED. 6 2
Raspberries Posted February 14 Posted February 14 There is something very sinister about an album full of overtly sexual songs about sex acts written and produced by a rapist 10 3
OnMyCoolJ Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Ppl need to get over themselves. This album is for ppl with a sense of humor…stop expecting everything to be Carole King 3 2 1
OnMyCoolJ Posted February 14 Posted February 14 This is not as good or fun as the original sl*t pop. mainly because it sounds like the same beat over and over again. 1
Spark Posted February 14 Posted February 14 This album sounds like what a virgin thinks sex is. 3 1 2

BMURDA617 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Her little “giggle…yeah 🤭🥺🤗” in Head Head Honcho is GENUINELY hilarious every single time. 😂😂😂

alfonso12 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Listened three times cause I really like Kim and I want to like this but it's too lazy. The beats and her delivery in every track feel too repetitive, and since the songs are so short it just feels lik a bunch of interludes that take you nowhere. I think Rim Job, Head Head Honcho and Can We ****? are the only songs I might listen again. 1
pavi Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Had my first two listens this morning and it's a fun addition to the first part imo. It does have clear standouts, tho. Fuckin This ******* That, Get ******, and Cock Blocker are so good. The beats go off. Songs like Gag On It and Banana Boat don't slap as hard. They're kinda monotonous. If this project didn't rely this much on its transition, I would've combined both projects and mashed them together

So, i listened to it this morning and thought the same thing. It's giving B SIDE to **** pop. I DO like how the songs roll into each other, but the beats are all the same. I can picture this playing in the background of like a pool party or something. That being said, it's still super fun and funny. If you have a sense of humor and just take it for what it is, it's a fun little project!
Uncatena Posted February 14 Posted February 14 this is a new level of unlistenable I didn't know existed. 4 1

LoveInStereo Posted February 14 Posted February 14 The production on here is so rudimentary, repetitive & lazy. The OG **** Pop was simple in a way that felt intentional & (don’t laugh) sophisticated. These beats feel like first draft, sloppy, throwaway tracks without a lot of thought into them. The songs depend on shock value & comedy & there’s an occasional pay off but this project has very musical value. It’s like a Weird Al parody of the first SP. I guess the new strategy for her career is quantity over quality?
MusicIsMyMaster Posted February 14 Posted February 14 (edited) LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO its giving RuPauls Drag Race contestants random single droplets. I do love the way the songs mix so well into each other, kinda eats! Gag Order i will be using this in the gym Edited February 14 by MusicIsMyMaster

I know it’s objectively controversial to comment on Dr. Puke, but there’s something about his productions (and he’s not even remotely trying here) that makes me feel so nostalgic for an era in pop music where everything sounded fun, easy to listen to and catchy as hell. It’s the pop music I grew up with and again, as lazy as this one may be production-wise, I can’t help but obsessing over synths like the one in Head Head Poncho. Even though I still think that at least 90% of the work he does with Kim is actually made by the other guy and he just slaps his name on it for legal reasons. 2
Lady Claire Posted February 14 Posted February 14 (edited) I know charts is the last thing we care about when it comes to Kim, but this is charting very well! Album: **** Pop Miami Apple Music: #2 Brazil #4 Iceland #4 Serbia #4 Turkey #5 Netherlands #5 Portugal #6 Ireland #6 Lebanon #6 Poland #8 Bulgaria #8 Qatar #9 Finland #9 Spain #9 United Kingdom #9 Uruguay #12 Chile #12 Moldova #13 Madagascar #13 New Zealand #14 Australia #15 Belgium #15 Paraguay #15 Peru #16 Algeria #17 Greece #17 Romania #18 Germany #18 Latvia #19 Italy #20 Argentina #21 Luxembourg #22 Switzerland #23 Panama #23 Venezuela #24 Hungary #24 Norway #25 Mexico #25 Saudi Arabia #26 Costa Rica #27 Philippines #27 Vietnam #28 Lithuania #29 Austria #29 Cambodia #32 Czech Republic #34 France #36 Cyprus #37 Kazakhstan #41 Colombia #43 Namibia #44 Singapore #47 El Salvador #47 Sweden #53 Denmark #56 Croatia #56 Israel #57 Ecuador #61 Slovenia #62 Canada #66 United States #69 Kuwait #75 Honduras #76 Slovakia #85 United Arab Emirates #89 Guatemala #100 Malaysia #131 Hong Kong #161 Thailand #162 Indonesia iTunes: #2 Mexico #5 Spain #6 Netherlands #6 Turkey #6 United States #7 Canada #10 France #12 United Kingdom #20 Australia #21 Germany #42 Bulgaria #1 on iTunes Pop US. More top 10s on AM + top 3 on iTunes US (all genres) by the end of the day Kim is not really the mainstream popstar Republic wants her to be, but it's clear that her fanbase is somehow strong and support all of her releases. And this is where they need to focus, on her fans. I would rather have 2 albums + multiple singles, collabs etc per year with minimal promo than a long ass era like FTB was. DuffStan Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Brilliant to release this on Valentine's Day. Such a fun listen, I love how this is so not serious. An upgrade from **** Pop tbh. 1
Dula Peep Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I agree, not as fun or creative as the OG SP and wayy too repetitive… but there is something about a track titled “Whale C0ck” popping up on my Spotify that brings me such joy…
