B-Luke Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Quote The ARIA Albums Chart has a new #1 after 11 weeks of Swift supremacy, with 21 Savage’s American Dream debuting in the top spot this week. American Dream marks the rapper’s sixth studio album, including collaborations. He peaked at #4 here in 2020 with Savage Mode II with Metro Boomin, and 2022’s Her Loss with Drake made it to #2. Until now, his highest charting solo album was I Am > I Was, which stopped at #30 in 2018. On the Singles Chart, Jack Harlow makes it nine non-consecutive weeks at #1 with Lovin On Me. It’s the most weeks at #1 by a solo male artist (excluding collaborations and featured artists) since The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights was on top for 11 weeks in 2020. Ariana Grande returns at #2 with Yes, And?, her first new solo hit since POV peaked at #29 in 2021. The track, from her upcoming seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine, reunites her with long-time collaborators Max Martin and ILYA for the first time in five years. Ariana has had 19 top 10 singles here, including four #1 hits: No Tears Left To Cry and Thank U, Next in 2018, 7 Rings in 2019, and Positions in 2020. Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Saltburn-fuelled chart revival continues, as her 2001 hit Murder On The Dancefloor climbs from #25 to #12, while another old track enjoys a movie-fuelled comeback: Natasha Bedingfield’s 20-year-old hit, Unwritten, steps back onto the chart at #18 thanks to its inclusion in the rom-com Anyone But You. It peaked at #13 in 2004. x
Communion Posted January 19 Posted January 19 We're free from the expectations of success. I love stanning an indie flop who's objectively more talented than her peers and isn't tied to the expectations anymore of a #1.

UnusualBoy Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Her best chances for #1 are UK and US and those are not even on lock either

Prior to CttR, Katy was beginning to show some signs of slippage, with Birthday, This is How We Do, and Rise all flopping. The worst Ari did was pov, but that was surrounded by smashes like positions and 34+35, as well as the SYT and DFY remixes that she propelled to #1.
