I have lost my mind, or there's only seven Taylor albums in top 20, not eight?
HEAVYONIT Posted January 3 Posted January 3 (edited) Wait…Nicki still in the TOP 5? ATRL told me it was going to plummet. OK, it’ll DEFINITELY be week 5!!1111111 This time FOR REAL. Cross my heart and hope to die!!!!!!!!! Her label needs to wake TF up and push FTCU properly Edited January 3 by HEAVYONIT 4
Feanor Posted January 3 Posted January 3 4 albums in the top 10, 7 in the top 20… that's a great post-Xmas performance.
St. Charles Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I’m curious what the future of the music industry will look like. It’s clear that Drake and Taylor, who were the previous artists of the decade, are still going strong. But who’s coming to supplant them? It’s already 2024 so will it just be another Drake / Taylor decade? That’s kind of underwhelming if so. I hope there’s another few artists who are able to break through and begin their own streak of domination. 1
Holiest Dreams Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Taylor’s SEA units have recovered nicely post-holidays 1

Destinationsky Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Another week in the top 5 for onika👏🏽 She and her label better do it good with FTCU and Everybody asap 2
Bonicap Posted January 3 Posted January 3 (edited) A BB200 #1 with 68k sales, and then you have to read that streaming era artists shouldn't be compared with older ones because nowadays it's much easier to sell. Edited January 3 by Bonicap 4

Taylor and Drake have become almost impossible to beat, because new artists are not able to become mainstream. It has become so difficult to become big in the music industry. Anyway, I'm happy for Taylor's dominance, but I would like to see new acts having the success they deserve.

In the US, Morgan Wallen is definitely the one big new music superstar, with him having the biggest album of the decade so far, and his latest album rising up the ranks very quickly. And while SZA has been making music for a decade now, she really hit next level with 'SOS', so depending on how she does with future releases, she could end up as the defining female artist of the 2020s (besides Taylor ofc). HEAVYONIT Posted January 3 Posted January 3 55k units for Nicki and only 4k from pure sales??? Hmmm ATRL told me Nicki’s numbers were because of fraudulent sales 1
