Carry My Heart Posted January 3 Posted January 3 (edited) Taylor Swift Has 7 of the Top 10 on Billboard’s Album Sales Chart It's the first time one artist has held seven of the top 10 since the chart launched in 1991. Quote Taylor Swift holds seven of the top 10 titles on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart (dated Jan. 6), marking the first time any act has concurrently claimed as many titles in the region since the chart launched in 1991. Previously, Swift held the record for the most concurrent albums in the top 10 on Top Album Sales, with six, on three separate weeks. Quote Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) heads up the new Top Album Sales chart, holding at No. 1 with 61,000 pure copies sold in the U.S. in the week ending Dec. 28 (down 36%). She’s also in the top 10 with Midnights (holding at No. 2 with 24,000 pure; down 44%), Lover (3-4 with 22,000 pure; down 28%), Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) (4-6 with 20,000 pure; down 31%), Evermore (12-7 with 17,000 pure; up 5%), Folklore (6-8 with 16,000 pure; down 38%) and Fearless (Taylor’s Version) (holding at No. 10 with 13,000 pure; down 29%). Kasix Posted January 3 Posted January 3 She’s inching closer and closer to doing this on the all-format chart. 1

Cruel Summer Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Oh wow, and since the BB200 was pure sales before 2014, this is really an all-time record, very interesting
byzantium Posted January 3 Posted January 3 When was the last time someone did this? Surely the bestselling artists of all time Madonna and Rihanna have done it. 3

Trent W Posted January 3 Posted January 3 She’s slaying so much that it’s getting boring lol Every day she breaks a new record, but it feels like a daily event instead of an historic one 1
Taylena Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Huh, really? ...but some users here told me that 'Taylor is nothing without streaming farms'. I don't understand anything. Could they be lying?
Michael196 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 1991? didn't the chart launch at the end of 2014, since it was the BB200 before that? ot. another day, another record, can she come up with something else?? also... evermore stomping without them bothering to stock the vinyl on her site this entire season

Of course people are going to be talking about her. And since when is context of market circumstances something that ATRL factors? Don’t you know ATRL is where reason comes to die? 1 1

I think this one included catalog sales while the BB200 didn’t at the time, or something like that. Or, this chart is somehow the Luminate/Soundscan era BB200 until December 2014, then its own thing after that. 1

Yes very true, let me stop before I become the Stevvy of the medonsters 23 minutes ago, Cruel Summer said: I think this one included catalog sales while the BB200 didn’t at the time, or something like that. But from 1991-2009 catalog sales and exclusive albums weren't included so even then the BB200 didn't accurately reflect the "Top Album Sales" of a week. But starting in 2003 they started the Top Comprehensive Albums Chart that was basically the current Top Album Sales chart since it included catalog albums and exclusives. It was basically identical except for 20-30 positions. 1

You’re in for a big surprise then! I'm clearly talking about chart positions. In the 90s during the holiday season, the entire top 30 of the Billboard 200 would sell 100,000 copes. No 17 year old album, today or even back then, is going to sell that quantity unless the artist dies or an anniversary edition is released. Also albums are available to be streamed 24/7 and can constantly be bought online. No record store in the 90s was going to have an artist's whole discography stocked. Not taking anything away from Taylor, but it's obviously going to be easier today when you're an artist of her status.
