Like with Rosé, BP's concept is totally different to who she actually is and what music she'd release, but she still delivered every comeback convincingly Well to start with they were on the right age to debut but then again we had Minzy who was like 15
Mel. Posted November 3 Posted November 3 As for "BATTER UP" flopping…. i mean, they dropped it and basically went ghost, all we got was 3 YouTube performances, so I don't think it's fair to call it a flop when they didn't promote it outside of YouTube. We don't know what would've happened if they promoted it "SHEESH" dropped and debuted at #250 on Melon daily and went on to become a hit and enter the top 10 on every chart after promotion. 2

Rhyme Posted November 3 Posted November 3 9 minutes ago, Zack said: They are definitely serving NMIXX teas in terms of a fumbled debut and terrible music/concept direction, yet with (some) talented members. Out of the big 3 GG debuts, it seems SM was the only one who got it right this time. aespa delivered Next Level within 6 months of debut Black Mamba is also a masterpiece whether or not it flopped

Mel. Posted November 3 Posted November 3 "DRIP" is already starting off better than all their other songs, so the growth is happening…they just need to promote. YG pusses me off waiting a full week before starting them, that's what hurts them a lot. Every other group promotes immediately and here's YG waiting a whole ass week when that time is critical, but it's doing well without promo thus far
starstruckaj Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Still screaming that Giselle joining SM completely changed aespa's concept, truly told all the cute girlies to pack it up and suddenly having the members practice Nicki raps is kinda sickening 2
Zack Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Also speaking of GG debuts, it seems SM completely scrapped that planned group debut. There's barely 2 months left of 2024 and we haven't heard a thing. I think they totally reorganized the debut team/members, which would explain the many delays.

Mel. Posted November 3 Posted November 3 (edited) I'm still gagging @ Rosé defeating THEE G-DRAGON. I guess I underestimated how big "APT" is in Korea she really did that. atp who's gonna be able to defeat her? If GD idk who can Edited November 3 by Mel.
Mel. Posted November 3 Posted November 3 They're streaming "DRIP" on apple music, we need the girls to stream on Melon, FLO, Bugs, VIBE and Genie…

I blame all the BoA haters Unfortunately, I feel like "GOT The Beat" is probably OVER and NEVER coming back. Their SNS has been inactive for almost 2 years and SM doesn't even list them as a main group on the website anymore. You know it's over when even naevis is listed as a highlight, but not you. We will have to consider "Stamp On It" as a self-predicting bop, I fear OT: I'm so ready to be proved wrong though. Justice for Girls On Top! Edited November 3 by Zack
VelvetCrush Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Didn't YG congratulate BABYMONSTER on BATTER UP getting 100 million views saying it was the fastest debut song to reach that milestone?
Pluto6 Posted November 3 Posted November 3 (edited) 55 minutes ago, Mel. said: It's not about what you consider their debut, it's what IS their debut and every official site has April 1st as their debut date Sheesh being released on April 1st tells us everything we need to know about it NOT being their debut though. YG was probably just fooling y'all Anyways: Quote Babymonster debuted on November 27, 2023, with the release of the single "Batter Up" as a six-piece ensemble. Member Ahyeon, whom due to personal health issues, was unable to partake in the group's activities and was excluded from the debut line-up. Edited November 3 by Pluto6 1

They should've sticked to the original plan and switch up the lineup after Step Back. I remember people being hyped about what the next lineup was going to look like, but SM got too carried away when Step Back became a hit and used the same lineup which ruined the hype of the project I think?

I think they went with a comeback for GOT The Beat because Step Back was a hit. Stamp On It came out in the middle of the SM 3.0 mess, the release was botched and both aespa and RV fans boycotted the album (due to aespa album delay and RV mismanagement). So with that, it was doomed. I agree, they should have created a new unit of GOT. There are so many talented female idols in SM who they could showcase in another unit. 1
