They buttered SISTAR shoes too

I was so distracted by their mics being ON I almost didn’t notice the slippery mess. Damn that is missing from the gens now — vocal ability.

Having lyrics about rolling in Maybach as if YG didn't ban them to drive because of Daesung & [REDACTED] Road accident.

New gen fans don't know that this song was made entirely by GD for a solo side project(in an era where idols didn't really do solo side projects), before being forced by YG to give the song and its completely fresh house music + hip hop concept to Bigbang, prompting a massive rebrand of the group. It was one of the biggest hits of the year in Korea(Big Bang's breakout hit too) and made GD an instant legend + instantly catapulted YG into being SM and JYPs next biggest competitor. Cultural appropriation and genre mashing were a part of kpop from day one, but this specific flavor of these concepts and its influence can be traced through most BGs and every YG idol group to debut since then up to the current day.

The sound was born out of a desire to get back to his roots as an SM Ent. trainee of 5 years who was scouted for his dance ability and to truly embrace dance music while keeping his love for hip-hop front and center. No focus groups, no plagiarism, no flying big name western writers+producers out to Seoul, just an artist creating the type of music that expresses what they love most about the medium. GD, for better and for worse, personally embodied the contradictory influences of kpop's signature sound and was able to elevate the genre to a completely different level.

In the race to label every single 1st and 2nd generation idol group as the most important and successful and impactful by their haggard aging stans clutching onto local popularity, the indelible and completely next-level impact of G-Dragon can sometimes be misunderstood by foreign fans as usual rose-colored glasses stanning. GD is the only idol to ever reach the kind of influence over the broader Korean music industry that names like Seo Taiji, JYP, and Lee Sooman achieved.

A lot of people mistakenly just see GD/Big Bang as the "first" breakout global kpop success, or only the "first" of the idol-artists, as if those trends were guaranteed to happen with or without him, but it was his unique perspective as a creative that created the space for these things to exist in music culture. He is THE breakout global kpop success and THE idol-artist, every one since wasn't just chasing his same goals + influences, they were directly following in his footsteps. It goes just beyond this sound/vibe, SO much of the kpop formula is a product of GD's influence and that's why he is uniquely still popular with youth not just in Korea but in most markets where kpop is mainstream. Educate yourselves and put some respect on the king of pop's name. :gaycat1:

I have nothing against the BABYMONSTER girlies but idk some of them look so young and soft it hard to sell the bad b*tch vibes

I feel like what they were trying to do is kind of combining cute and girl crush in one group. That's what you get from the name as well. The thing just is that girl crush is not working with cute. The concept just isn't working.

I also think they are too young to be able to fully sell the girl crush concept. It's not working. It's really sad cause the girls are really talented.
they should go back to the drawing board and try to find songs that actually fit the girls rather than try to make the girls fit the concept.

They're two young girls from a K-Pop girl group, I genuinely don't get the hate for this track, it's fun and on brand for its purpose.

At this point HYBE is responsible for rigging the stage that Wendy broke her face on, getting SNSD to kick out Jessica, Lucas being exposed for being a **** boy, CLC disbanding, JYP's cult, the ZB1 boys being gay and IVE's recent flops.

I heard that Hybe was responsible for securing Yoona's bangs
