I know it is easier to hate than do the research but some quick searches would show the remix is the reason the song achieved as much as it did, especially in the UK! Gladly, I have some time today so let me pull out the receipts.

Calm Down only started charting the UK Singles Chart and entered said charts in September 2022, which coincidentally, is a couple weeks after the remix was released. It never saw the charts before, despite the original being released 6 whole months prior, wow!

Looking at iTunes and Spotify history for both songs show that:

1) The remix peaked at #11 on Spotify UK and entered on September 3rd, 2022. Meanwhile, the OG peaked at #124 on Spotify UK and entered said chart on Dec 2022!

2) On iTunes, the remix entered on the same day it was released and peaked at #1!! Meanwhile, the OG not even top 40, and only went there after the remix was out and doing great

3) On Apple Music, the remix peaked at #2!

4) It was the remix the one always played on radio stations in the UK, so much so that it also reached the #1 in some Top 40 radio countdowns!

5) The Brits, which manage the certifications in the country, credited the remix for its Gold certification

6) If she is not credited is because of a rather stupid rule about only one version being credited, even if another is doing better. That's why Bey was not credited for Perfect and Ariana for Save Your Tears for example!

All in all, that #6 year end position is VERY earned!
