To be fair, the charts have been boring for the last 4 years. Radio has held on to way too many songs well past their expiration date. That’s allowed many older songs to stay on the chart longer than they deserve. The only way to get the charts to be more exciting again is to add TikTok back to the charts.

Brenda and Mariah conspired against nicki... also Spotify and Apple music made it difficult for people to find her songs... It’s silent cause Brenda already snatched 2 weeks at #1 and Mariah has 12 weeks at #1. There’s not that much hype going on anymore now that both queens have topped the chart for multiple weeks lol

 

I don’t think much of the chatting over the previous couple weeks was even about Mariah’s reign being over, but the majority of chatter was the excitement for Brenda getting to #1 finally. 
 

I personally love both songs and am glad to see the #1 space being shared over the holiday season.

I didn’t say just one person lol. I saw a fair share of people myself, but a lot of which was repeating offenders.
 

What I said in my post you responded to was I saw much more people rooting for Brenda. I even saw a lot of people saying things like they like Mimi’s song too but are excited for a new holiday #1 to switch things up. And I saw people excited for Brenda and excited to also see Mariah take back the #1 in later weeks. It’s what I saw more of on my socials, so I don’t know how you can say “Nah”, unless you see the exact same things I do. Yes, the Mimi haters are silent now, but a lot of the conversation of a new #1 of a 76 year old women topping the charts after many years of release and many weeks at #2 is over with now. That’s a big piece of why the thread is more silent now too, not just because people like to shade Mimi.
