Unfortunately Mariah over did it with the whole Christmas thing. She sort of reduced her career to a Christmas song she should’ve never went hard for that song every year (Gaga was smart for ignoring Bloody Mary’s success that was she isn’t only known as the Halloween song lady) 

 

Hopefully this is the last year Mariah focuses on this song and starts focusing on giving us new material. A new album from her would be amazing.

to be honest you can forget about it. Mariah is seeing what is happening to for example Madonna, and also Mariah's last album. She will stick to Xmas for the rest of her life, even Cher example proved that this is the only way. Cher is there still only because Mamma Mia and Xmas music. Mariah will also go that way: some classics album (covers), the best of albums and the best of tours and xmas music and xmas tours. I am not telling she won't release any new material album but it won't be huge and will prove her what to stick with.
